Oh please, don't let this happen.

The wannabe pop star thanked the crowd for coming before telling them: 'I want to win it for you all, I want to win it for Ireland.'

Anyone from Northern Ireland voting for him on this forum?

Live about 1 hour and a half from Dungiven....

and if he wins I will be devastated.

NOT voting for him and never have done.

I hate this "I'm gonna win it for Ireland" rubbish

You know on the ad breaks last weekend, everytime they had a UTV sign, it had a pic of Eoghan and it said "OUR HERO"

My mum and I collapsed laughing.... forget all those who went to war, a 16 year old who can't sing is our hero... and we just have to accept it, we didn't even get a say in the matter

Anyways, I thought the kid was good at bootcamp, and Never Forget was good, but that's it....

EDIT- sorry, I meant the backing vocals were good in Never Forget

National Pride destroys these shows. Especially when the judges try and encourage it.

Only Northern Ireland can vote so can't see that making a huge difference. He should have said he wants to win it for the mums out there, he'd win by a landslide then

Celeb style - Eoghan makes a dramatic arrival.

I just can't stop laughing at the way he stepped out and waved like a President. Oh dear, little Eoghan. Enjoy it while it lasts though.

Hmm.......Eoghan very much sees himself as Irish, in the same way as half of N.I identify themsleves as British. It's not some sociological concept, it's enshrined in the Irish (RoI) constitution, but has always been the case whether you are born in New York or Newry.

I won't be voting for him - but not because of this - because I don't think he is half as talented as Alexandra.

But what's the big deal about this? He was pleasing his fans, telling them he wants to win for the nation he feels patriotic towards. What's wrong with that?

Don't get me wrong, i think Eggnob is dreadful and i don't want him to win it but i don't see why his participation in the final has suddenly turned into a sectarian issue because he said "i want to win it for Ireland"

Well there go the Unionist votes! So now he's down to half of NI but at least he won't be kneecapped for singing on Hero. Wish the ****ers had let all of Ireland vote this year. Admittedly I would have been voting for Ruth, but still.

I personally just don't want him to win. Wheter it's for Ireland, England or Italy.

I don't usually bash him, it's just the thought of him winning it now that is dreadful and I can''t help but feel he might.

Does that mean any phone votes coming from Scotland and Wales are not wanted then?

Well if he had said "I'm winning it for Northern Ireland" or Derry there would have been more uproar

lol Of course they are. Was just messing around.

All these acts get votes from all over, not just their cities/nations.

If he had said "i want to win it for Londonderry", the Orange Order would be offering up their best flute players to help drown out his woeful attempts at singing high notes

Lol, good comeback. Isn't she 1/4 Irish or something? Personally I wanted Ruth to win it for Ireland. Dammit.
