Ways to liven up the next series ...
At some point, the contestants have to sing a song chosen for them by the public
I'm thinking Nessum Dorma for Eoghan Bur seriously they do need to cast the net wider for song choices in my opinion. As Leona Lewis is demonstrating with "Run", it could work well. But would that song ever have been chosen for her during the series. |

Keep the entertaining, original artists in and don't leave the boring, copies in the final 3.

'Wildcard' entering halfway through.
Double Elimination - They did it once before to shake things up in series 3 I think with Alica and someone else going. |

X Factor 2009:
1. A live band 2. A wider selection of songs and arrangements 3. Build a new set 4. A wildcard category. Merge the 14-24's and one judge (Cheryl/Simon) will have their top 3 decided by the public when the 9 rejected at bootcamp sing live. 5. One week less of auditions to make way for wildcard week and a more substantial reminder at the end of the process of the best. 6. More songs at bootcamp, we heard the same songs a million times in one show 7. More contestant interaction with the hosts (either away from judges, in a "green room" or in VT's) 8. Get Dermot a female co-host that he can bounce off of. 9. Run the series as a Simon vs Louis battle. We've had the new girls, lets get the "classic X Factor" feud on again. 10. No cute boys that can't sing 11. No themes. 12. A "red carpet" finale at the Royal Albert Hall or somewhere similar |

Far more relevant than the Swing style. Also I like the wildcard category idea, it would freshen things up - especially if someone like Cowell got the 'rejects', lol Another idea, which maybe contradicts my last paragraph, is that I'd like to see Simon in a role similar to what Andrew Lloyd Webber does on Any Dream will do - as a kind of 'super judge' who can make acidic comments but isn't actually running one of the categories. Then he can say what he really thinks... I don't mind theme weeks, but they need to be broader - decades (90's, 80's etc) rather than just some act who wants to come on and plug their album. And the set and dressing should change with the themes. |

I think a change to the voting, maybe something like on Strictly where the judges put several acts into a showdown that gets voted over for the results show, as at present. But then the bottom two go into an overnight vote off with the loser eliminated on the sunday. That way there's chance for fans to react to their favourite being on the verge of leaving. As it is they have to guess their vote is enough and no chance of fighting harder. Plus there's always threads on here saying they can't get through, because the system is overloaded due to voting only being allowed in such a small time frame. Allowing overnight would solve that, and also allow people to vote that may be watching a repeat, or were out on the lash. |

The premise of x-facor is four judges with 3 acts competing to win x-factor.
The reality of x-factor is four judges employed by simon cowell, choosing songs for their acts in the hope that one makes it to the final and win the show for simon cowell. As such theres no real competition as the winner is Simon everytime. How about four judges from 4 competing record companies, who choose 3 acts and the winning judge (and record company) not only gets the winning act,but gets first choice on weather they sign any of the remaining acts. The losing judges (record company) get nothing. |

Can't see their egos allowing that. |

So its a closed shop,Simon wins everytime. But if he were to open it up to real competion, the quality of the show would improve, contestants would be chosen on their potential to win the show rather than weather they have a dead wife/father/kitten. |

I've always felt they should do the following - get rid of the judges categories and just let each judge pick his or her favourite 3 acts. Instead of the cliche ridden judges house weekend we could have the judges arguing over who gets who - and if more than one judge wanted any act, the act would get to decide who would be their mentor after hearing each judge pitch what they would do for them.
Hopefully, it should mean we end up with 12 quality acts rather than definitely having to have 3 bands or 3 oldies who are never going to win - if there were 4 or 5 amazing acts from any one category they might all get a chance. Girlband and Bad Lashes were a waste of a place in the final 12, as were Scott and Daniel. Secondly it adds a lot of spice, can you imagine Simon's reaction if an act turned him down to be mentored by Louis? It would add to the panto in other words. |

The Bengal Tigers that I recently added to the Big Brother House to be allowed to eat the eliminated contestants. Public vote who to kick out rather than who to save.
