Look, if the point you were trying to make was that you thought Lisa and Bredan were just being "honest" (your way of saying they were stating their honest opinion, I suppose), why not just say so instead of coming in to attack the op for making a thread just because you don't happen to agree with the subject?

It's still being discussed on ITT as well. I'm not surprised. A lot of people have been shocked by it, although I think it was a fair decision since Lisa and Brendan did dance better in the dance off. I would have been sad whoever went, they all deserved to be there, but I would have preferred Austin in the final. Still, I'm sure Lisa will make a good effort, though I don't think she has a chance of winning because she clearly isn't as popular as the others.

Where? I've just watched today's ITT and there wasn't any mention of the supposed terrible things that were apparently said according to this thread. Then again given that nothing terrible was actually said I guess ITT would have trouble referring to it.

ITT would never bother to bother to dwell on anything controversial this series as Claudia clearly has instructions to gloss over anything vaguely difficuly or awkward and guests are generally briefed to on what to say, to make sure it isn't too unpleasant towards the Judges' Favourite(s). :yawn:

I have no problem with Brendan speaking his mind and criticising the over-abundance of 10s this series - but why confine that to the contestant who's just left the show? I'm sure he laped them up the previous week when he and Lisa were at the top of the judges' leaderboard.

Bigears - you are bang on. And bridgerton, if you think Austin and Erin were the judges' favourites, you must, with the greatest respect, be living on another planet. That title, as we all know, falls to Rachel ... and Lisa ain't far behind her.

I did actually say they were the judges' favourites "to an extent" and they were at the beginning, although perhaps less so towards the latter stages. Thus, I live on exactly the same planet as you.
I honestly don't believe there is an outright judges' favourite - anyone can go and that was proven last week with Austin's exit.
Brendan has previously said no dance is worth a ten and that includes his own with Lisa. People tend to ignore this point though...

I don't understand Lisa's "unpopularity", she seems lovely to me.

I hope that she will be judged on her dancing only on Saturday. She may well be the one to go but if she is fairly judged there can be no complaints.

Of course, if Lisa danced well and do CBM with Brendan (i.e. no gapping) during their QS, she might still be voted in by the judges. I still feel she'll be in the dance-off. Though if she's with Rachel there, she might be voted off. If she's with Tom, then it's 50/50.

Sorry if I misquoted you, bridgerton - but I really don't think anyone can go right now. Of course everyone has different opinions, but I would argue there is overwhelming evidence (too long to post here - I have a job to hold down! ) that Rachel is being scored and promoted above the others while underwhelming the majority of the public. So the only real question now is who will dance against her … and, linked to that, which way Strictly's credibility will go.

Who goes on Satruday will entirely depend on how Rachel dances and where she is placed on the leaderboard. If she is the worst (which I very much doubt) she's got no hope. According to some inside info, the voting on Saturday was Tom with the most votes, followed by Austin, followed by Lisa and then Rachel. Even if Rachel gets to the final, I doubt she'd win it unless the tide turns.

Still seems mad to me that out of the 3 semi finalists, two who have been in the dance off on 5 occasions are still there.

I have to agree with that. Much as I like Rachel (and Lisa) - Rachel and Vincent are like little pocket dancers! I think they're really sweet together; I have to question whether this particular series is going to be truly the 'GBP''s favourite to win'.

I'm really anti 'conspiracy theories' (and there are some whacky ones out there!) but I am beginning to get the impression that the judges are forcing their favourites into pole position at the expense of those whom the public might favour.

At this stage, I feel (from quarter finals onwards), the dance-off should be stopped. It has served its purpose in the previous eliminations - ensuring that those who were 'weaker' dancers went home (well, those less popular with the GBP anyway). Those who remain by now should be the ones who the public most want to see win. Else why are we voting?

It would be nice if the person who was the people's favourite won the show in (less than) two weeks - whoever that may be () but we'll never really know as, with a dance-off, the judges choose from the bottom two and we don't actually find out who was the least popular and so should have actually gone.

And - it's the judge's choice. Not ours. With only three left in the competition the choice is effectively removed from the GPB - which rather negates the whole point of the phone vote, really.

Course, I could be talking out of my posterior here! But it's just a thought (or two!)

I totally agree with your post. Why do they say vote for your favourite if 2/3 of teh final are judges favourites. The evidence being they have been in teh dance off 2 and 3 times repectively. They would not ever be in a dance off if they were popular with voters.

Voters waste their money in latter stages and teh BBC must think people are thick not to pick this up. Certainly the judges know and are laughing about it., Craig saying - We get who WE want in teh final - then teh public chose prety much confirms that.

I suppose my issue is with the dance-off at this stage which meant she'd have had to seriously messed not to go through - if the judges marked a dance 39 or 40 then they effectively have to put that person through and it makes the dance-off moot. I actually thought Lisa danced worse in the dance-off then the main show - she was gapping pretty badly again during the dance-off which was missing from her performance in the main-show which was good but not worth 10's as far as I was concerned - Craig's 9 was probably fair. That said the cheorography corner although full of praise for it said it was a simple dance - but I can't complain about a waltz being easier to dance than an AS - after the arguments around last year's semis - a waltz is much easier to dance than a paso too but them's the breaks - everyone in the end dances the same dances only in a different order so if you get a tougher dance than that's just tough.
