Hi

I'm just wondering about the leader board placements for this Saturday and how it can affect who goes through. Obviously we all know Lisa and Rachel are the least fave with the public out of the 3 left(don't take offense anyone i'm just going off the previous dance offs)

so can the person who finishes top end up in the dance off?

IE if the board ends up like this which i'm pretty sure it will,

Rachel top
Lisa second
Tom third

can tom get through without being in the dance off which i hope he does? my fave is Lisa but i'm not in denial to know she is obviously going to be in bottom 2 ,its just who could be there with her?

Is the person who finishes top getting a free pass to the final regardless of how low they finish with the public?

sorry to make my question so long winded

thanks

Yes, if the public votes are completely opposite from the judges. All three would have 4 points in total but the public votes hold more weight in that case.

Just been reading the Tom and Camilla thread and they are talking about the same thing...sorry to have started a new thread!

So i think i'm right in saying whoever finishes bottom needs to come top with the public and the top placing celeb needs to come bottom with the public?

all very confusing lol guess ill just have to watch on sat and have suspense like everyone else

Hypothetically if the board ended up like this,

Rachel top -- 3 + 1 (public) = 4
Lisa second - 2 + 2 (public) = 4
Tom third ---- 1 + 3 (public) = 4
”

In the above hypothetical scenario Tom would escape the dance-off, as the phone vote actually counts for 51% not 50% after deriving the composite score of 4, same for all three. Tom would then be ranked composite top and Lisa second.

Not to worry, your boy will go through unless he falls over in the jive.

Yep - if the public vote goes Tom, Lisa, Rachel (for instance) then they would all have 4 points - in a tie the public vote takes precedence.

My fave is Lisa but i really do believe Tom deserves to be in that final which sadly is at the expense of Lisa who we all know will not beat Rachel in the dance off.

my perfect final would be Lisa and Tom but sadly that is never going to happen and so just have to hope that at least Tom gets through and deservedly wins

Thanks for your reply everyone...you've made it clear of the scenario which could happen...hopefully

Ive worked it out that assuming Tom is the most popular, which I think many would agree is the case, he only needs to finish second in the judges leaderboard to go through.

That would give him 5 points, and even if the judges fave comes 2nd in the public vote, he goes through cos the public take presidence.

Also, in theory the person who finishes bottom overall can still avoid dance off - because if it flips on its head, they go through.

What happens if someone's favourite does a lousy performance (or two) on Saturday, will they still vote for him or her?
I don't think we can tell atm who is going to be in the final. I have my thoughts about it but really we will have to wait and see how they dance on Saturday.

Ah the old cheap shot again - the answer is it would depend on if it was a one off or part of an ongoing trend. I think if someone generally good has an off-night then they are entitled to another chance especially if there are people generally worse still in the competition. I'm afraid yes I will vote for Tom no matter how well he does if I can - we've got people round on Saturday so I might not get the chance - because I think he's the last chance we've got getting a final with someone in it whom the public like and I want rid of Lisa because she's over-rated and Brendan's a pain in the bum.

If the Leaderboard is Rachel 1st, Lisa 2nd and Tom 3rd according to the leaked public vote that would cause a reversal by the public vote and he'd still be through.

Basically the only possible way for the ladies to avoid the dance off is if their fans outvote Tom's. However if their fav is top and tom is bottom they only need to outvote the fans of the other lady. So, if Rachel is 1st, Lisa 2nd and Tom 3rd Rachel's fans would need to outvote Lisa's to keep her safe.

At this stage of the competition a meltdown is unacceptable - part and parcel of being a winner is being able to take the pressure.

Maybe the "off night" thing works earlier in the competition when the likes of Phil Daniels or that awful chef (Karen's partner) were still there to be culled off. But when all the contestants are neck and neck as they are now, any slip up should be rewarded with a sharp exit.

I maybe wrong but I worked it out of the possible 6 different combinations only one with Tom can get him in the dance off....if the voting follows the leak from a couple of weeks ago.

with
1 Lisa
2 Rachel
3 Tom

There's another scenario: if Lisa and Rachel share 1st place - then Tom is guaranteed to be in the dance off, no matter how the viewer vote goes.

Yep, if you take those numbers as correct, that'd be the only one, unless Lisa's fans stop voting if the leaderboard is

1 Rachel
2 Lisa
3 Tom

In which case Lisa would be in the dance-off against Tom. But I don't see that happening

I thought it was a straight public vote this week. if so there won't be a dance off

I think Tom could be in real danger this week! IMO the order will be :

Judges + Public
Rachel 3 + 2 =5
Lisa 2 + 1 =3
Tom 1 + 3 =4

With Lisa being queen of the dance off..... do I need to say anymore

I think that Lisa gets 2 from the public not Rachel.

Well I wasn't going to vote as I'm not keen on any of them, but it may be worth voting for Tom, simply because I think he's a better all-rounder than Lisa, and Camilla deserves the final. Oh dear, the only person I actually like is Vincent!

I'm bumping this because a FM asked where the tie on the leader board scenario had been worked out before last night. Some clever dudes on this board!!
