Advice needed - Samsung PS42Q96HDX - maybe needing repair
I need some advice regarding my Samsung PS42Q96HDX plasma tv. I won the plasma tv some 16 months ago through a competition I entered, so don't know when it was purchased.
The problem I have is that when I switch the screen off, the tv will start clicking a few minutes later and looks like it has re switched itself on. My Oh has said in the past week, she switched the tv off, went into the kitchen to clean the babies feeding bottles and has come back into the room some 10 - 15 minutes later to see the tv switched on. The clicking has been going on pretty much the whole time we have had the screen, its just in the last couple of months that we have noticed the screen turning itself on completely (we usually switch it off at the plug so as to conserve electricity as it will not physically switch off completely, only onto standby) The advice needed is mainly to do with how I should go about getting the screen repaired if required, who should I speak with - samsung or the competition promoter? Will i have to pay for the repair or will it be covered under some form of warranty? Other than this issue the screen performs great, no other problems. many thanks in advance. |

If you've had it 16 months, then it's out of warranty anyway - you also have the problem that warranties aren't usually transferable, so the warranty was with the original purchaser anyway, plus you don't have proof of purchase.
It's difficult when you win something like this. |
