Hello all.

I've recently moved house and suddenly been landed with a bill for over £200 from BT and I wondered if you could offer me some advice.

I signed up with BT in April '08 for phone service and broadband. However my employer went into administration so I lost my job, and eventually was forced to sell my house.

I notified BT that I would be moving and gave them my new address and all seemed fine, and when I moved they told me that they'd transfer my account over to my new property.

Aside from having to pay a connection fee as the new house didn't have a line, all was fine. They were billing me monthly as usual etc.

However, last month I was sent a bill for £200 odd as a "disconnection Fee".

Now, had I terminated my contract with BT I would have expected this, and had no problem paying, but since I transfered my account, and they used that word, "transfered", I am a little hesitent to pay up.

I've tried contacting BT, but every time I am either put ina queue, or passed to someone who, though only doing their job as per their training, is merely reading answers back at me from a computer screen and being of no help whatsoever.

Can anyone offer any advice at all? I really don't think I should have to pay this fee.
