DVD-R Not Playing on xv-s302

I've just recorded my 1st DVD-R. I've played it on my housemates DVD player (Panasonic) and works fine. I tried it on my JVC XV-S302 and it keeps saying that there is an error despite the fact that my DVD player should play them.

Any idea anyone?

might just be a picky player with certain types of disc. Was the -r disc branded? try a different brand and see if that works.

They are branded as bulkpaq.

Will have to give another go later.
