IPhone Exclusivity

Just wondering - how long does O2s exclusive deal with Apple for the Iphone last? I'd really like one - but O2 coverage is patchy at best where I live.

Any idea when/if it will be available on other networks?

at launch o2 said it was a multi year exclusive and we know no more than that. multi only means more than one and it was launched in, i think, november 2007.

Have heard from a colleague of mine (I work at the store of another network) that O2 have a 10 generation deal on the iPhone.

There were people who continued the rumour it was coming to Orange in October , no doubt those FMs won't post on this thread

I think the deal with AT&T in the US was for 5 years, so I am guessing it is pretty similar for O2. I do believe there are some clauses which let Apple exit early if O2 don't meet expected sales requirements. I wouldn't mind it being exclusive if O2 and Apple pioneered some nice exclusive features. They have visual voicemail, but the original innovation between the 2 companies has yet to come to fruition.

But again those same people said it was just that a "rumour", everything one can discuss about said commercial terms of the agreement will only ever be speculative conjecture. No one was wrong, it was just stated there was a possibility.
