This is really aimed at Bob_Cat.

By now, you should have a good idea as to what is going to be in the next OTA update for the HDR. I'm assuming that there's a spec for the update, and that it will be released when the spec is met. I would also expect that there's a "hope date" for it going on-air.

Would you care to share with us?

No firm dates, we are concentrating on some really advanced features while mopping up bugs as well.

I can't say when we might be ready for an update, but as there is a lock down on transmission changes mid-next week we probably won't be broadcasting until the new year.

It would also be helpful if Bob_Cat could confirm if the "blue light on, glowing front display, no TV picture, turn off & on and its ok" is something that will need a software fix - or should the people affected continue to return the units to store.

Swedish,

I don't track the bug reports, support do that and feed directly to the development team. Unless I read about it on the internet I only really get to hear about the more difficult or political issues.

Thanks, Bob_Cat, for the prompt reply (even if it doesn't really give anything away).

Whereas it's always nice to get "advanced features", there are quite a few people here (and by extension, the wider world) anxiously awaiting some of the basics to be put right. I hope we don't have to wait too long for that just because "advanced features" are still being worked on.

Come to think of it, the "wider world" probably needs the basics working more so than us here. Most of the people on this forum are probably better able to work around or cope with the problems.

Which bugs, specifically?

I would hope a fix to the locking/freezing problems that quite a few people are getting.
Could bob_cat confirm if this is something that's been investigated ?

I hope a workable MP3 player that doesnt need the TV switched on is one of them, using the LCD to navigate would be great!

Also the mp3s player should go onto the next folder rather than just stop otherwise this means having to turn the TV on and off after every album finishes playing.

This thread has identified the problems with this manual download , if not yet solving them completely.

The update on the Humax Support site is version 1.00.02. That is the version that has been available as an Over-The-Air update since the HDR was launched. If you have two LNB feeds to the HDR, you should already have it. Presumably the downloadable version is intended for people with only a single LNB feed who can't receive the OTA update.

Bring on those advanced features Bob_Cat.

The basic features work fine for me and I'm sure you'll address any tweaks in the fullness of time.

Bob_Cat,

You say you have nothing to do with the technical side of things.

I'm presuming that someone else is reading, printing out and feeding back our bug reports and feature requests from the threads on here or that you are passing them onto them, is that correct?

I'd hate to think we're all trying to pass feedback onto Humax only to have it left on the forum unread.

Like being able to delete a file when a recording is in progress? For the love of god, please rectify this one 'tiny' fault.

That's not a big issue for me and fixing it can wait. Be realistic, the box works really well.

I don't see this as a fault and I just can't understand why anyone would regard this is a problem. I do hope Humax don't waste any time fixing the numerous fictitious "faults" listed on the bugs thread, but use the time instead to introduce some additional features.

I think the box is brilliant!

I think not being able to delete recordings on the box is more than just a feature, to me at least, it's a significant issue. I didn't need to 'train' my wife to use our TiVo!

Don't know about your wife, but I prefer the "I've finished with that film/programme now"
That way I know it won't be deleted by mistake

This box has more complex features so she should benefit from some training.
