Perhaps it's not going into non-Freesat mode which causes the schedule to be wiped, but bringing the schedule itself up in that mode. If you do so, it shows blank (naturally since the schedule isn't supported in that mode) ... but maybe this wipes it too. (Perhaps bringing up the Guide does the same.)

The schedule whilst in non freesat mode is unavailable so it doesn't erase the schedule from freesat mode
Okay now the guide I've just tested this and it doesn't remove schedules from my stb either

Though when I switch modes, this doesn't generally happen, I'm sure I've been bitten by this once or twice. As a result I'm now very wary of going into non-Freesat mode.

I have a theory -- but with a full schedule I haven't yet tested it.

I'll test this when I can be bothered to reset all my timers; unless someone else can confirm my theory first!
As far as I know it's only doing some form of channel scan in non freesat mode (full or manual) deletes your timers. Anything else has no effect.

Ah yes, I think you're right. That's another good theory scuppered then!

You know, I believed that too ... strongly. But I'm 99% sure that at least once I've lost my schedule without any sort of scan. (What else I might have been doing I have no idea.)

... of course, I also thought you could bring up the Schedule in non-freesat mode, so what do I know? <g>

It is possible to use guide and then press the yellow button in non-freesat mode but mine just reported that there was no data available I presume thats because I've not made any manual reservations

Oh, okay. I assume then that doing that didn't wipe the freesat schedule?

Edit: Oops, I think you already answered this...

Very strange I have done this loads of time and never lost a single reservation. Have you a standard 2 cable install, a 1 cable install with loop, or just a single cable with no loop ?
I have 2 cable install.

This is what I am saying- I thought the same thing. But just browsing through channels then back to freesat wiped my schedule 3 times. After the third time, I swore I wouldn't use non-freesat again. No scanning took place in those 3 visits to non-freesat mode.

(sorry for triple post- if a mod could delete the one above I'd be grateful).

That isn't the case with me. To test, I even went into non-freesat mode and just skipped through a couple of the channels then back again to freesat mode and schedule wiped. I never checked the schedule in non-freesat mode.
This is very wierd, I just have 2 BBC HD reservations for this evening.

Switched to non freesat mode, pressed guide changed to freesat version of BBC HD. Pressed guide and the schedule (It say's not available). Exit To BBC HD. Changed back to Freesat mode - schedule still there. Changed back to non freesat mode switched off, switched on again, recorded around a minute of BBC HD in non freesat mode. Switched back to Freesat mode, reservations still there.

I wonder if it's a disc space thing as if you look at the drive on a pc the reservations are found on the hard drive. My Foxsat has 8% used of a 1Tb drive. (I only ever record HD as I have 2 freeview pvrs)

Yes it is odd as not too many people seem to have suffered with this issue. But I am glad I am not on my own (there are a handful on these forums). I don't think it's a disk space issue as I don't think I have ever gone beyond 20% full on mine yet.
I remember when I first discussed the issue (it may have been on the bugs thread- can't remember) someone suggested resetting and going back to factory defaults. That didn't help either.

After the third time, I swore I wouldn't use non-freesat again.
I did exactly the same thing and so haven't wandered into non-freesat mode since Christmas.

Since I've been unable to get it to wipe the schedule today (despite repeated attempts), and because this is a good time to be watching CNN, I'll start using non-freesat mode again.

Though I can accept that I might be mistaken, I was clearly pretty sure at the time it happened without a scan or I wouldn't have stopped using non-freesat altogether.

So, I do think this can happen under some circumstances, however obscure.

Back on-topic, anyone know when the next update is due? Presumably it will be bug fixes at this stage rather than features.

Well "zAndy1" claimed on this thread that the next update was today (16/1).
No idea where he got that info from.

More than likely bob_cat will let us know first he usually does.
