Hi, my little 'un has one of the Alba TV/DVD combi's and has lost the remote.

We've tried the 4 in 1 remotes but can only add the TV and not the DVD player.

I've called the company that makes the remotes for advice but they told me that it's "tricky"

Anyway, i'm hoping that someone here on DS might be able to help.

The actual problem is that when i try to add the DVD player, i have to use the auto search, the instructions for the remote tell me to wait to see what code turns off the power to the tv/dvd and then save that to the AUX button.

Problem is that the power is the one button for the tv and dvd so it's not working when i search for the codes.

Any help/advice would be great

If all else fails, i'll have to buy a cheap little dvd player instead.

A lot of the universal remotes have a code list in the back of the manual. You could try looking up ALBA - DVD player then trying the various codes to see which works.

Failing that then there are a few companies around selling replacement remotes for your model of TV/DVD combi. Prices range between £15 and £20 plus a couple of quid postage. Here are a couple of links
