Just remind her that the 14 year olds always get turned down because they're not 'ready'.
and if they do get to the shows they're farcical and hated for being young.
Tell her to wait 5 years.

How do you know it's back to 16 and over only? Did I miss something?

It was announced on an advert just as the show was finishing.

They should even raise it to 18 and over. Adults only.

Why on Earth would they raise the phone votes to over 18? People under 18 generally are MORE into music than over 18s, and they'll make more money. Likewize, just because Eoghan and Diana were annoying, it doesn't mean all under 18s will be. I'm sure Eoghan will be the same in 2 years time.

I don't agree. we have had 16/17 year olds in the past have been good.

People leave school at sixteen, by the time they are eighteen they might have other commitments.

Keep it at sixteen and let the producers/judges decide if contestants are ready

So the youngest winner was 2 weeks off his 19th Birthday then!

I rest my case!

I would put an upper age limit of 45 on it as well, to stop all the "no hopers" going through to Boot Camp!

It should be 18.

Someone of 16 is too young for the show. There are all sorts of problems if someone of 16 won as there are severe restrictions on working hours travelling etc.

If it means so much to them they will find time to pursue their ''dream''.

Let the judges decide? They're useless at deciding who can sing most times, let alone if they are ready. lol

Miley Cyrus is 16 it hasn't prevented her from being incredibly successful.

Just lok at all the problems with Eggnog who could not appear in xfactor Xtra. Could not go to the Wrap Up Party etc.

It would be a farce if someone of 16 won besides the fact they would not be able to handle it.

You can't just base your opinion of under 18 year olds on Eoghan and Diana.

Miley cyres?
Micheal Jackson ?
Charlotte Church?
David Archuletta?
Chris Brown?
Beyonce Knowles?

Need i go on?

There re so many limitations on working hours, School attendence and problems with travelling and working abroad that it would not be practical to have anyone under 18 win the xfactor even assuming the very remote possibility they found anyone that was any good.

There is OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE out there. We ARE ina country of 60 MILLION.
Exams can always be re-done. And it is also obvious that most people entering the X Factor want a singing career. So schooling COULD wait.

And all the previous peoople have done fine in my opinion when starting at the age of 16 and below.

(BEYONCE,CHRIS BROWN, MILEY CYRES, MICHEAL JACKSON!!!)

Done quite well in their career don't you think?
