The REAL reason for tonight's controversy....
Mel G

I have cracked it - the real reason behind tonight's cock-up was NOT due to poor maths/no foresight/bias towards Tom/bias towards Lisa/bias towards Rachel/judges in cahoots*.....

It was all a ploy to steal the headlines from the winner of the X Factor and to rain on Cowell's parade!!!!

Anything to wee on his parade sounds plausible to me.

Thanks Crow - it's just that everyone seems to have a theory regarding tonight's debacle and I was feeling left out!

You might not be that far from the truth!

That's a really good point!

Fits as well seeing as the results were today!

I think you can take conspiracy theories too far - I can believe the judges fiddled it to give Rachel and Lisa the same scores but to say this was a PR stunt - that would be the end of the Beeb if it were true (i.e. blatantly lying to the public who fund it)!

I thought it was because they were one down ever since John Sergeant left .. and a final 3 is better than 2

I can see your point, and I have considered this.

But it does make the BBC look like numpties and open the possibility for more criticism for telephone voting scandals again... so not the best PR opp IMO...

Not really. Alex won tonight so the world is back spinning on its axis once more in the X-factor threads. Now if Eggnog had won.....

I must admit I thought Simon might be laughing his socks off at what happened.

Seemingly Eggnog won six of the ten shows!!!

JLS, Diana and Alex all won one each plus Alex won the final as well, so Eoghan did really well for himself!

I doubt BBC would want more and such negative publicity
