I came on the forums this morning expecting to see some contentment that the BBC actually did the right thing for once, bearing in mind I was reading the forums last night before the decision and many people had realised what had happened due to the leaderboard and were (rightly) annoyed that Tom could not be saved from a dance off and that it was likely that he would go as a result.
However, this morning there are a number of totally bizarre threads (imo) that seem to suggest that Tom should stand down and that he doesn't deserve to be in the final: which to me just seems wholly unfair to Tom. He may have had a bad week, but whether you look at SCD as an entertainment programme or a dancing programme he has done both! It is not a Chris Parker situation where he entertains but isn't that good at dancing, so why are people making out like it is?
Is this just because some people who support Lisa or Rachel think that Tom evidently has a chance of winning and would have preferred he was taken out of the equation so that their favourites had more of a chance?!
This is no different to some Tom fans posting ludicrous conspiracy theories because they feared it was their favourite at risk.
