If the time war is timelocked it must have a "keyhole"

Maybe it also has a "gate".

I think the Doctor decides to follow caan's lead and attempt to bring back the Time Lords. The story will build over next years specials and end with 10's regeneration.

The gate would surely be the gate between realities hence; the alternate universe cybermen - maybe created or used by them.

The Gate is a reference to next years Christmas special, so unless it's the start of a running storyline this christmas...

It could refer to the line in The Stolen Earth:

"But you were destroyed. In the very first year of the Time War, at the Gates of Elysium. I saw your command ship fly into the jaws of the Nightmare Child."

It's brilliant! With over a year to go RTD has got people speculating what's going to happen in next year's Christmas special.

The Moff has a huge act to follow.

It's been pretty quiet about the Gate lately -RTD mentioned it in his RT interview last Christmas and little since ... RTD said will never be the same again -sounds very significant must surely be something that leads to David's departure from the series i'd have thought ..yet Carmen never mentioned the Gate ..

I reckon it will be a Stargate.

As with most things in new Doctor Who they just use rifts or wormholes where aliens get shit out of the sky to introduce them to a story.

So when he says a 'Gate' I think it's as literal as that,....a Stargate.

It's a veiled reference to the fact that 10 dies after 'crossing the streams' in an agonising and tragic underwear accident...
