A thread in which to be happy about a 3 person final!

I thought one of these was started last night, but I looked back 5 pages and couldn't find it. I just wanted to start this to avoid all the hoo-ha on the forum, and cries of conspiracy.

Personally I'm thrilled that we'll get a 3 person final! And all 3 contestants deserve to be there! What happened last night was no fault of Tom and Camilla, nor was it anything to do with John Sergeant, nor to do with favouritism towards Lisa and/or Rachel. Even if it were, should we not be happy that we're getting the 3 person final so many forum members seemed to want?

Tom, Rachel and Lisa have produced some beautiful dances this series and I can't wait to see them in action next week! The final will be a fair playing field, and the person with the most public votes will win - fairly.

Is anyone else excited? Or am I alone in not buying conspiracy theories? Actually, I think if there were a conspiracy theory to believe, it's that the judges tied the top two in order to ensure a 3 person final!

Bring on next Saturday!

It's a shame that it has happened in the way that it has - but I am very pleased that it's a three couple final. Last year it felt that the dances suffered by having to have [b]five[b] dances ready for the final.

There is a thread (somewhere) about this. I posted on it a couple of hours ago. However, it seems that most of us would rather argue and dwell on the negative than accentuate the positive.

I agree with you. I've never been happy with a two couple final and was particularly miffed for a number of reasons when JS withdrew earlier this series, not least of which that it deprived us of a three couple final. I'm delighted that we now have a truly entertaining final to look forward to.

I totally agree with everything you've said, ESPECIALLY THIS BIT!

I am more than happy that at last, we get a three-couple final, three showdances, and three great competitors & their pro partners.

And as I posted elsewhere, the shock & joy on the faces of all concerned when the decision was announced just made the semi-final for me as well - a truly unscripted set of reactions from what I could see.

Roll on Saturday.

I agree with you, but there seems to be no pleasing so many people.

Three couples danced; 2 of 'em danced a heck of a lot better than the 3rd, and through no fault of their own, their marks tied. IT HAPPENS, SO WHAT?

Because the beeb want to try and make things look fair to all concerned, they didn't eliminate anyone..... i.e Tom & Camilla.

You'd think people would be jigging up and down in delight that there is now going to be a 3 couple final, as, if nothing else, most people seem to agree a 3 couple final is better than a 2 couple final. But are they happy? No, it's conspiracy this, conspiracy that.............. I say,for goodness sakes, give the producers, the judges and Uncle-Tom-Cobbler a break for once, and just look forward to what promises to be a darn good final!

I agree. I don't understand those people who claim that Brendan looked disgruntled. He looked surprised and possibly even a little taken aback but all celebs and professionals joined in with a delighted celebration. It was heart-warming. Just what we need in the run-up to Christmas.

Certainly a 3-couple final has compensations.

It's not ideal the way it's happened. I think Rachel should have topped the judges leader board and and then it wouldn't have....but in the circumstances the BBC took the most sensible option.

Also it does blow some of the wilder conspiracy theories out of the water.

Actually I'm over the moon that we have a 3 person final, and I agree with a lot of people that the joy on the faces of everyone was fantastic. I would even say that Brendan was shellshocked, and completely over the moon (at one point he rubbed his face and said yes). They have all been given a lifeline, because if the girls had not been tied, they could have been together in the dance off. This is the best possible outcome and we will have an explosive memorable final next week.

I'm glad its a three person final. In fact I think all the contestants are happy about it, even R&V and L&B. Either of those couples could have been in the dance off against T&C knowing that T&C had no chance of avoiding the dance off and based on previous scores would not survive the dance off. If what Brendan said last week is true, he would have felt guilty about getting rid of T&C, so I think he's ok with the result.

If the 3rd place is decided by both public vote and judges scores then Tom's supposed popularity may not save him anyway. It will make for a more exciting final!

Yes, a proper 3 way final is excellent, So pleased for Camilla especially, given a lifeline at the eleventh hour.

Totally

Last year everyone was moaning about another 2 person final, and I assume they did before that (I wasnt a member at that point)

Its good for the show, makes it more exciting, and its great for me because I dont think I could have watched Camilla's heart break yet again

I'm so glad that there are three finalists instead of the two. It makes for much more enjoyable viewing. I honestly don't see what all this fuss is about, with the votes being rolled over to the final. I think it's the right decision.

Absolutely see the fuss about the votes being carried forward, as voting in semi-final week to keep a particular couple in, as they may be in danger, is different to voting for your favourite couple to win in the final i.e. the same vote may want to vote for different couples either week and therefore end up negating their own vote in the roll-over. The roll-over would have worked better during the series run as opposed to into the final IMO.

I am, nevertheless, absolutely thrilled that we have ended up with a three-way final!

Delighted! I think we have a better chance of seeing great dances. The two-person final was a test of stamina not of dancing. Roll on Saturday!

Am I the only one tittering at the expression "a 3 way final" that people keep using? It just brings into my mind something very different to what the BBC are going to be offereing us next Saturday!!!!

Great thread. I'm absolutely ecstatic with 3 couples Finale, about time.

So who do we think will do the best showdance and who are you worried about?
