Lulu,
Kate is 23 and Andi 33ish I think, but looks younger imo.
I've looked on the net for Margherita but haven't found anything conclusive. (Bystander's Kate turns down TOTP thread is no 11 on the search
)
However, I have found out that she was 'discovered' at university and went to BRMB before Capital and some tv. She interviewed Whitney Houston late '96 on tv. I don't know whether she finished uni etc but my guess is 30ish, but looks older imo, certainly looks older than Andi.
Susann, thanks for the info.
I want to reiterate some earlier thoughts and to combine them with the latest info. I agree with TNB about both Margherita and the one presenter points, but partly disagree about Dermot. I know he has done music presenting (Unplugged?) because I've seen it.
It was 'leaked' he was the preferred choice a week or two ago. He is selective about what he does and I'm not sure he would want to do it. He probably appeals ok to the younger primary target group and certainly does to the twenties.
If it is Dermot as the permanent presenter, maybe there will be a rotating younger female co-host. That tends to rule out Margherita imo, but maybe we'll have Posh, Britney, Christina, Pink etc as guest co-hosts. Failing that I can only see the likes of Fearne, Kate, Tess Daly etc with the right profile.
If it isn't Dermot, I don't see any other male contenders for main presenter, mainly due to lack of profile. That leads me to Margherita as the steady hand with somebody younger, either male or female. I could also see members of Blue, Busted or even newer groups as guest co-hosts.
I wouldn't rule Kate out of this either. She does have experience of live tv after all, and she was absent ill from RI:SE today. Could she have been auditioning, or even over-celebrating the results of her 'top secret' activity the weekend before last.
I can't really see any of the females doing it solo (for different reasons) but Dermot could. However, I'm beginning to doubt it's him and only him, because, if it was, I think it would have been announced already.
Margherita was announced as the presenter of the first live programme. We'll find out in the next week or so whether this is a one-off, and then there'll be one less subject to speculate on
unless..........
