sorry if this has already been posted anywhere but if the judges scores are being rolled over to next week doesn't that mean tom is going to have to of got the most public votes this week and last week? and he probably didnt get the top last week as his fans weren't voting cos of how the leaderboard was?

I'd say thats a fair assumption.
People saying its not fair on Racheal and Lisa having a 3 way final, i think the only one this whole fisaco hasnt been fair on is Tom.
Some Fans voted because blinding they thought they could save him from the dance off., some grasped the judges cock up and didnt waste their money.

This whole stinking affair, has tarred strcitly forever , for me.
The head people , get paid, for what, obviously not thinking for sure.

Whoever wins, it will be what if. the phone vote fiasco had never happened. the judges had seen what the tie would do. would the two people in the final and more importantly the winner, be the one the public wanted to vote for. the 50/50 rule is rubbish.

I would think that if even half of his voters didnt vote I suspect he is still ahead.

I think you will find he IS top of the vote as believe it or not a lot of people dont understand how the voting works, I have done my head in since Saturday explaining it to people and they still dont understand it

There is no way at all of judging the impact of the voting system flaw on the semi-final televote. The whole thing is compromised. It's quite possible that most voters didn't change their decision to vote or their selection of who to vote for - being unaware of the problem. Conversely there may have been a significant effect on all the couples' votes...not just Tom & Camilla's.

It's impossible to determine which couples, if any, will be advantaged or disadvantaged by carrying forward the voting points....which is why in an ideal world it shouldn't happen....although I do understand the difficulty of finding a solution which is fair to all concerned.

This is making the assumption that the judges are definitely going to mark Tom lowest of the three candidates in the first round of the final. Believe it or not, this hasn't actually happened yet.

agreed, even that chap on breakfast failed to explain to Bill that had there not been a tie Tom could have been saved from the dance off because if the sum of all scores is 4 the public vote takes precedent. I thought it was all pretty straight forward before this weekend!!!

i cant help thinking its to get tom out to get one of the girls to win it happened with austin it was made really difficult for him to stay but for arlene to say that tom could of still been saved is rubbish against their favourites lisa and rachel i like all the finalists but the judges have their favourites which is not fair.

does it mean that as people who voted can now claim back their money, that the votes from last week can't be counted? Surely if they get their money back their votes are null and void?, they can't have it both ways?

The judges have nothing to do with this. If it was up to them Tom would have gone home on Saturday. Instead the producers gave him a reprieve due to the unfairness of the system. I doubt very much the same producers deliberately set up a system to screw him over having just saved him.

The most likely situation is that one girl will start with a small advantage on Saturday, and that the other girl and Tom will start on a level playing field.


The BBC apparently can tell if you've voted, but not who you've voted for. Therefore your vote can't be nullified, because the onl way they'd be able to tell is by asking, and I'm sure people are quite willing to sabotage their rivals by pretending to have voted for them instead.

I think it should be "Tom is going to have got the most public votes this week.

I realised that Tom could not avoid the dance-off, so I voted for Lisa, which a lot of people may have done, I have got a feeling that Tom may have got less votes than he normally would have done and Rachel and Lisa would have got more, even though Tom is in the final, he could start the final at the bottom because of this.

I won't hold my breath, that the judges mark all the contestants fairly.

if Tom and lisa or Tom and rachael were someones fav , then in last weeks phone vote , some may have realised that a vote for tom was a waste of money and voted for their second fav, ie one of the girls this situation is still not fair on Tom.
If he starts off the night with lowest votes, and the judges then mark him last again, how can the phone lines can be opened and we get told to try and vote to get your fav into the final. because my maths head isn't good. but it looks like another shambles to me. on the upchance of the judges putting Tom first, what is the point then of the whole first half of the show.
they may as well just cut to the chase and have the dance final the judges have wanted for ages!

Given the (very slim) chance that Tom might not have topped the public vote last week, I'm sure the judges will be quite happy to overmark him into having a fighting chance. It's not as though they haven't overmarked dances of his before (rumba, foxtrot).

The idea that the BBC heads HAVEN'T sat down and made very very sure that Tom will be able to be saved by the public vote after the debacle of last weekend strains credulity frankly. They may be stupid, but they're not that stupid. They've had a whole week to plan very specifically towards an outcome, this isn't them being caught unawares by a situation they hadn't planned for.

I didn't vote for Tom last Saturday because I saw the situation. But that just means I vote twice the number of times for Tom this coming Saturday. And since there's still a judges mark AND a fresh round of public voting before the bottom couple go out, I'd say it was far from over!!

In fact, if Tom IS seen to be in the bottom position at the opening of Saturday's show, there will be a HUGE avalanche of votes from all those who don't want to see him go out.

Knowing the judges, they'll probably score the girls equally again for another tie! I wonder what would happen then?

I wonder, if we do find out that Tom has the largest public vote at the beginning of the Saturday show, if it will give incentive to Rachel and Lisa fans and in fact to the public at large to multi-vote for the girls. Just a thought.

I think it'd be quite funny if they haven't thought of it and don't realize till the lines open, what will they do this time? Timeshare the glitter ball.

If Tom did not get top of the votes last week then he his history before he has danced any steps in the final . The judges will put him bottom no matter how well he does. If he is level with one girl on 4 points then I can see double the amout of votes for Tom (I never voted last week for him either and will therefore to double for him this week - unless he really is shockingly crap of course!)

The only way Tom can win is by getting the votes

imo its not right the votes got rolled over or the judges score. as last weeks phone vote was corrupted for all three.
as i said, some whose fav maybe was tom and one of the girls , realising there was no hope for tom voted for their other fave!

I have no idea what they should have done last week, the whole show was as craig says a DISARRSTTTER.

I think it will be very interesting if Tom *did* win the public vote last week, even with some (we don't know how many) votes not being cast by people savvy enough to see the waste and some more (we don't know how many more) votes being cast by people savvy enough to see the waste AND vote tactically for one the girls instead.

Either way, he'll have had fewer votes and the girls will have had more than they otherwise would have. So, if Tom still tops the viewer league then, as far as I can see, if the tie hadn't happened, he'd have had a 50% chance of going through without dancing off last week. And if he had, he'd have won the whole thing by a country mile.

Therefore, for me, it's a 50% chance Tom is going into this final with an unfair handicap.
