Ever feel like you're stuck in a time warp? What are the same "unplanned" things that keep happening in every series:

Brendan storms off camera.
One contestant is branded the "journey" candidate and makes the final.
Karen threatens not to return for the next series.
There's a romance/showmance/wedding/infidelity.

We are told it's the best series yet.

The series gets longer and longer.

There's always a 'shock' exit

Someone puts forward some dodgy conspiracy theory which has practically no substance and amounts to little more than sulking because their favourite got booted out.

Someone calls for one or more of the judges to be sacked.

Someone calls for Bruce and / or Tess to be replaced.

Someone claims that the elimination of an EM contestant is due to 'racism'.

Someone is immediately led to beleive that they can't do the jive because they're tall, and they usually belong to Ian Waite.

And average dances score higher marks than they deserve to prove it.

The series ends just before Christmas.

Everyone gets standing ovations and 10's in the final. Regardless.

The strongest female contestant gets called "teachers pet".

There is always at least, one poor celebrity dancer .

Christopher Parker, Diarmuid Gavin, Fiona Phillips, Georgina Bouzova, Kate Garraway and Mark Foster come to mind.

The standard has never been as high as this series.

Female fans of the leading male dancer get accused of voting with their ovaries and hating pretty girls.

Tess fails to listen to the celeb answers to her questions.

A dancer from Wales/Scotland/Norn Irn will go home and be greeted with a barren wasteland and general indifference from the populace apart from one solitary "Vote For X" poster in a butcher's window.

only Rachel. Shes the best dancer we've had ever but none of the others are as good as Mark, Jill, Emma Colin or Alesha were.

Whoever is partnered with Brendan is said to have "finally tamed him".

Tabloid newspapers forget that Matthew and Ian are gay and try to pair them off with their female celeb partners.

Some one will leave 'too early' in a 'shock exit' which means Tess can spend the next few weeks urging us to vote even more because basically it's our fault for thinking they were safe and not voting enough.

One of the celebrities/dancers does an expose in some redtop about backstage stuff.

A naff dancer gets further than they should do on ability.

The judges get brassed off about it and shoot off their big mouths both on and off the show thinking that they're demi-gods and their word is law.

The public vote even harder for the "demics", partly because they're annoyed at the "listen to me, me, me!" attitude of the judges.

The BBC rub their hands and hope for more of the same from both.

If you dance with Matthew Culter it doesn't matter that you are tall and it also doesn't matter if you're a tall male
so all tall women (not dancing with Matthew) can't jive according to the judges

Each year the scores go up whether or not the standard goes up or not so except the first 10 in wk 1 by series 10

Oh and the best girl dancers are always compared to Alesha or Jill yet the men never seem to be compared to previous champions

if there is a eastender in the mix - their partner to be Darren (except Louisa)

These are the best Quarter/semi/finalists we have ever had this is said every year

Had never noticed this before but it's so true! No judge ever says, "Now that was as good as Darren Gough's Samba/Waltz/Caterpiller!"
