SCD6 - birdseye view

Below are the latin and ballroom average marks for each of 13 weeks:

Latin average: 22, 25, 28, 30 / 25, 26, 27, 24 / 34, 31, 34, 35, 33
Ballroom avg:: 24, 30, 25, 25 / 29, 30, 30, 34 / 33, 37, 35, 38, 37

Split into bitesize chunks the moving averages are:

weeks 1-4 :: latin 26, ballroom 26
weeks 5-9 :: latin 25, ballroom 31
weeks 9-13: latin 33, ballroom 36

Latin average marks improved from 26 to 33, ballroom from 26 to 36 -- following the departure of low-scoring celebs.

In SCD6 all 3 Finalists managed to score high from the beginning except for Lisa who suffered one lapse of 22 in her first latin. SCD6 did not appear to improve celebs as dramatically as SCD4 improved Matt Dawson and SCD5 improved Gethin and Letitia.

All 3 Finalists scored higher averages on ballroom, in the case of Lisa as much as 6 marks higher. The 3 candidates scored 32, 33, 33, 33 on the jive.

31, 30, 32, 39, 32, 37 ------------- Rachel's latin avg 34
33, 32, 35, 40, 39, 39, 39, 36 --- Rachel's ballr avg 37

22, 32, 29, 30, 37, 33 ---------------- Lisa's latin avg 31
35, 35, 36, 35, 39, 39, 35, 40 ------ Lisa's ballr avg 37

28, 33, 34, 35, 35, 34, 33 ----------- Tom's latin avg 33
35, 32, 36, 36, 35, 39, 34 ----------- Tom's ballr avg 35

(In above stats Argentine tango, not a Ten Dance, has been classified as ballroom.)

I might be wrong but I always thought that the Argentine Tango was Latin and the classic Tango was ballroom?
Interesting figures all the same - thanks!!!

I won't change it unless forced by OFCOM.
And there will be no refund.

I was being quite polite with a valid query, and thanking you for the figures, but if you want to be rude then feel free.

Multiply it by pi squared and it's the same difference. What's your problem?

Well, indeed.

Under the admitedly somewhat-arbitrary classifications used to determine these things, AT would be classed as a ballroom dance. It's in hold and it's progressive.

For that matter, both Vals and Milonga would also be classified as ballroom dances, for similar reasons.

Live with it, I have to.

It can't be ballroom (stamps feet) you don't have to pull a tango face.
