Have now managed to download this 7mb file with my 1.5 download connection at 60kb/s average . It seems better if you fall for a slow connection to cancel straight away and try at once for a faster connection.

It took 15 attempts over a 30 minute period........this is not good , I would hope that Humax can improve .

I can understand owners frustration at not being able to do a manual download to upgrade............ But, at the moment, what are you missing ?

My Humax HDR ran fine on a single lnb, until i put in a new dish/lnb, and my only problem was the inevitable 'program clash'... which the software warned me about.

I get prompted for a username and password when I click on the 'Download Tool' tab. Anyone else seeing this?

It asked me for that when I looked at the install instructions. Whoever runs their site is clearly incompetent.

Has anyone done a successful update using the download and does it update the loader version?

I have noted that I have the latest application version (via the OTA update) but a lower loader (v7.51).

Although I successfully managed to download the update I have not bothered to install as the version contained was already installed via the OTA recently, (1.00.02). Its just the loader which is different 7.51 instead of 7.52. I am going to wait until the next OTA update to see whether there is a problem or not.

Just Guessing, but maybe the loader version just reflects the method of applying the software update. i.e. OTA uses Loader 7.51 and download uses Loader 7.52

AIUI the difference in the loader version reflects the modification to allow OTA updates on a single LNB system, so you dont need to update it if you have a dual LNB system.

Does anyone have the FOXSAT-HDR_upgrade.hdf file they could send me? Doesn't seem to appear on their website anymore and I want to see if I can pull it apart a little!

andy [at] burningimage.net

Much appreciated if anyone's got it!

You are lucky, you haven't bricked your HDR: http://www.hummy.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=5357
