Found this on Buzz Jack.

Quote:
“X-FACTORS’s Rachel Hylton, has reportedly been approached by US label ‘Hometown Records’. Owned by singer John Legend, the label has been responsible for successfully re-launching the career of Estelle. Legend, who has had a string of his own hits, is allegedly keen to launch another British talent.

An insider said ‘Representative’s from Hometown have been very impressed with Rachel’s distinctive voice. They believe that they’ve found a raw talent who could be a massive success on both sides of the Atlantic just like Leona Lewis.’

Earlier this month Hylton also stated "I have been approached by a record company but I'm not going to name them". She went on to say that she was unable to commit to anything until her contract with The X-Factor ended in March.

Constantly championed by judge Simon Cowell, Hylton narrowly missed out on the X-Factor’s semi-final to boy band JLS, despite impressing the judges with her rendition Billie Holiday’s I’m Telling You I’m Not Going.

If it is true then Rachel will definitely have the last laugh.

It was on the x factor forums at Buzz Jack.

John Legend is touring the UK in March, I guess Rachel would still be tied up in the x-factor contract. She might have done a song or something with him or before he came on stage- Providing this is all true of course

I think they can break away from the contract in March. God knows but they seem interested.

Good for her. She potentially has a good enough voice but she is a bit of a wild cannon and needs to learn a lot more about self-control.

She also needs to learn that she doesn't know it all and she should start listening to good advice - even if it isn't what she wanted to hear.

I agree with this.

This could mean so many big things for Rachel. If it all works out, could Miss Burke already have a major rival from the show?

Rachel is no ones rival, she is nothing

Exactly but some people love to 'compare'. It is quite annoying.

I really hope this is true. Am such a fan of Rachel. It was so striking when they all sang that song on the last show how it was her voice you could hear. She's a total star

That final 12 performance made me laugh. A lot of them sounded like backing singers whilst Rachel and Laura belted it out.

Rachel has raw talent, and Billie Holiday originally sang And I Am Telling You.
The only believable thing about either of these statements is that someone who believes one would probably believe the other.I guess after that, it's no stretch to compare the leader of the banned to Leona.

I know for a fact that several promoters are, lets just say, not impressed with her.

This article made me laugh, but hey, if it is actually true, maybe she can get a Mr Blobby J Blige kind of novelty hit single out of the way the X Factor engineered portraying her past, attitude, and sloppy cracked foghorn-esque shouting. It wouldn't be the first time someone went that route, and won't last long enough to be annoying. It's what many have predicted from the BigBrotherriffic start as the finish to the whole mistake of her being on X Factor anyway.

At least the best singer won X Factor this year, and several of the other, better contestants seem to be getting a lot of support from the show, and Ruth from Dannii.

I know.

I am just perplexed by the so-called journalist's inability to use google to get his/her facts straight.

Wow still so bitter that you cannot seem to accept that perhaps not everyone in the music world shares your opinion.
Surely there are lots of singers in the industry that don't meet your lofty standards but they are very successful never the less.
Why not just live and let live the XF is over now and whats it really matter to you whether Rachel gets a contract or not perhaps if she does she might get some training and address the numerous faults you say she has.

Whats with the leader of the banned reference you seem to be making in every post you wouldn't be trying to bait people who can't argue back would you?
