I thought the same but I also thought that Laura & Austin were a bit off too.

If true, am not surprised. With a voice like hers she deserves good things that happens to her. I have never been wrong about a talent and Rachel for has it all for me. Music is subjective we all have a different taste and musicality. She does remind me of Billie. Many people did not like her voice and how it sounded. But God there is an icon.

As for the negativeity. I will not be moved. I celebrate because I am a fan. Also congratulations to Alex. Wishing her every success and also all the others. At least people should be thinking about the success of all the contestants that took part not talking BS.

Regards

Firstly, Simon Cowell calls her one of the best singers that he has seen in this country for over ten years.

Then John Legend wants to sign her and turn her into an international star.

And people still have the cheek to accuse her of having no talent.

Nevermind. It's armchair referee syndrome.

Rachel has a lot of potential but The X-Factor was the totally wrong enviorment for her to try and showcase it. I would like to see her make a success of things after the amazing performence she gave in her final sing off.

Oh yes but they know so much better because they have watched her on TV - note have never actually heard her sing live.
I know for a fact the sound from the XF that comes across on tv is very different from the live studio having been to one of the shows this year and I was stunned by the difference and how much better all of the contestants sounded in the studio.

Good for her I say if this is true after all. Despite all the negativity surrounding her, some of it deserved and some of it not, she had some potential with that vocal of hers which didn't materialize on the live show.

I'd be interested to see what kind of material she would be given.

Why hasn't she have a US record label yet?

Well, the journo also said that she "just" missed out on a semi-final place and I'd say that's rubbish as well - she wasn't in the "quarter finals", if you want to use that terminology.

OMG...WOW!! Please let this be true??? I've always known that Rachel would get signed but I never even dreamed of a deal potentially this huge! Fingers crossed!!!!! There is no point comparing Rachel with any of the other finalists as she is so different. Her following will be completely different to that of Alex. I will be waiting patiently for more news on this!!!

I definately wasn't a fan of her on the show but if this deal does materialise then I wish her luck. Maybe in a different sort of environment with good guidance she could be successful.

I did like her audition but found it downhill from then on with the exception of her final sing-off, where if the judges had kept to their original protestations of judging solely on that performance, she should have been the one saved.

That's what baffles me. She needs to go to the US were I am sure they will appreciate her voice. Look at Estelle, dumped by her record company because they probably didn't know what to do with her talent now look at her. She's blown up. I am sorry but these UK promoters, critics are just too much for me. They just critisize and aren't open to new ideas.

Was never a fan, but if this is true, good luck to the girl!

Just hope she doesn't turn into another Amy Crackhouse!

She was my biggest disappointment this year as I was exoecting her to blow me away on the live shows and she didn't. I still think that we just didn't get to see what she could do. I understand that some people were also put off by the way she came accross but I think that there are reasons for that that arn't do do with her being a bad person. I really wish her all the luck in the world.

Gosh - I hope this is true. It would be a travesty if Rachel did not get signed. By far one of the most unique, soulful, emotive voices for a long time and yes, she wasn't suited to a manufactured show like the X-Factor, but if she gets the right opportunity, guidance and support she is going to do well --- especially internationally where people will judge her based on her talent and not her past. I know she has a noticeable number of overseas fans who like us are eagerly awaiting her records. I really hope something works out for her!

Sorry to nit pick but Rachel narrowly missed out on the quarter finals, not the semis!

Reminds me I was reading a newspaper last week, and they called Eoghan Quigg, Eoghan Quinn. Shows how he really left a mark

I love what John Legend did for Estelle, wasnt a fan before but since she signed with him they made a great album together. John himself is as great artist. She cant go wrong with him. Im still hoping he might get her on stage with him at Brixton academy in March.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to be spiteful, but IF she does come into a big money contract, she WILL come into contact with the drug scene again and as an ex-addict, it would be easy for her to go on the slippery slope!

I was only making the comparison with Amy W. as the money she's earnt from her music "career" hasn't exactly helped her, has it!

Rachel and Amy are 2 different people - Rachel has been there and done that and stayed clean for 6 yrs, she is older and wiser now.
