I absolutely loved Tom and Camilla's showdance it made me happy and I think that is the key to their success. Yes they made some mistakes throughout the series but more of their dances made me FEEL something. I can't say many of the others dances made me feel much at all apart from admiration at their skill (although R and V's rhumba was great) and one or 2 others made me laugh for the wrong reasons - naming no names. I am so glad they won on a high.

I agree with the "messy" comments (though it was certainly no messier than the other 2 showdances) but enjoyed the irony of it nonetheless. For me it was the best of the three and made Tom's win slightly more palatable.

L & Bs showdance came in for a lot of stick on here which I felt was unfair. It was a brave performance considering they had just been knocked out of the competition, so I can forgive the sometimes poor execution of very difficult lifts.

I thought it was AMAZING, and I'm a Lisa and Brendan fan.

Rachel's and Vincent's great lifts? Sorry, it was a complete letdown, theirs. She runs up the stage, gets ready, I tought they were gonna do a Dirty Dancing lift, something spectacular, rather than her jumping with her legs wrapped around his waist!

Tom's & Camilla's, while not necessarily to my natural taste (I'd prefer show show dances) was awesome, it was very personal, and very well done, which is why FINALLY even the judges gave him decent compliments. He deserved it as they took a massive risk with such a dance but did it well and it paid off, deservedly.

The less said about Lisa's and Brendan's the better...

I absolutely loved it, most entertaining thing I've seen all series. Very clever in that it capitalised on the things that both Tom and Camilla do really well.

I really liked Rachel and Vincent's too. As animated as I've seen her all series, better technically, but it wasn't quite as entertaining as Tom's.

Very disappointed in Lisa and Brendan. After such fab choreography all series from Brendan, this was quite a shock. I'm not really sure what they were going for - but it didn't work.

I absolutely loved it as it combined great lifts, ballroom dancing and a sense of fun and played to Tom's strengths in every way. Everything a great showdance should be imo.

It's much closer to what I think the show dance should be (Brendan was daft to attempt hard lifts with Lisa; if you can't make it look good [Austin & Erin's lift was spectacular], then don't do it), and close to what I think Colin & Erin should have done.”

Its probably what Erin should have done with Colin, instead of puppetgate. I don't think it would have won them the title, but Colin would probably have done it better than Tom, it would have suited them, and they would have finished 2nd knowing they did the right thing.

Zoe's is still my favourite. I didn't like Tom's showdance very much at all.

Urgh dreadful. I really hate that style of pantomime end-of-pier dancing.

I agree 100%

R&V were pipped at the post with this show dance.

I thought T&C's showdance was amazing. I've just re-watched it several times and it just makes you smile (as Len said) and feel good. I've never warmed to Camilla but thought she did a brilliant job. I am a Vincent fan and did enjoy their showdance but thought Tom & Camilla deserved to win. I won't mention the other showdance!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that! That's the way I catch my kids when they jump off the stairs.

I will never forget Tom's dance. Without a doubt, the best dance I have ever seen on SCD (and I bet Craig would still have given it a 9 )

LMAO, I too am relieved this has been mentioned, they did it a couple of times, with her just clutching round his waist with her legs. I am a fan of Vincent and I wouldn't have minded them winning at all, but Tom's show dance really blew me away - it was brilliant.

Totally agree. R&V's showdance seemed to comprise mainly of her wrapping her legs backwards around Vincent and then him throwing and twirling her around. It was pretty rubbish, though not as cringeworthy as Lisa and Brendan's

Tom and Camilla's show dance reminded me of a Torvill and Dean Chaplin-style ice dance - just great. Fast, foot tapping fun, light-footed and left me wanting more. Made Rachel and Vincent's look stodgy and as for Lisa and Brendan's - well I think it has all been said - dire.

I had my doubts, but after that showdance, something which is the ultimate test of talent, ability and partnership, I think Tom and Camilla deserved to win tonight as they came through and took their final performance over and above what has ever been seen on Strictly before. At the start of the show tonight they were the underdogs and the ones who would've left a slightly bitter wake if they'd won at that point. At the end they blew the whole thing apart and there really was no competition after that last dance. Tom had a aspiration to dance like Fred Astaire; Camilla wished to win the competition and they both acheived over and above what they had dreamed of. That's what Strictly's all about.”

If I could buy you a round of the drinks using the internet, I would. Well said!

I loved Tom and Camilla's show dance - it reminded me of a Torvill and Dean Chaplin-style ice dance they did. Slick, fast foot-tapping fun! Just left me wanting more and it made Rachel and Vincent's look stodgy. Better not say anything more about Lisa and Brendan's than - dire!

Good comparison. also reminded me of something out of Barnum. So wonderfully enjoyable. Never get tired of watching it.
And yes I would agree that it was the best showdance I have seen in all series of Strictly.

Not quite up to Mark and Karen's I didn't think, but I loved the Vaudeville slapstick vibe running all the way through it, and it was great fun.

Just as well Camilla didn't dress up as Stan Laurel which could quite easily have happened with that sort of routine.

I really enjoyed their showdance - Camilla took a risk and it worked; it will go down as one of the really memorable showdances of Strictly!

It goes up there in my favourites along with Zoe and Ian's, Alesha and Matt's, and Julian and Erin's. I did like Rachel's too, actually; it was a pity that it was upstaged.

I agree with the OP. This dance has over taken Zoe & Ian's for me as the best show. Strictly is an entertaining dance programme and that was one entertaining dance.

I'm not a big fan of the gymnastic style of going from one lift to another, hence Tom and Camilla's has to be my favourite. Had just the right amount of dancing, lifts and comedy to create the perfect show dance.
