As long as they keep Ian Waite, I don't mind what they do with it.

That comes from a News of the World article.

The return of the live results show on a Saturday would be grand. And in terms of a younger line-up, hope they get rid of that cantankerous old fool Len too!

As long as no more couples are added!

I hope they keep Graham Norton away from Strictly and that they do not axe all the old pros. The BBC have got absolutely no guarantee that the new pros will be as well received as Brian and Kristina - just look at poor Hayley Holt!

According to this so-called insider: This has been the most boring Strictly series

Really?

The reason there's been a bit of a drop in the ratings is because for the most part it's been on at 6pm!! That is it. Doctor Who suffered from a drop of 1 - 1.5 million when it was moved from 7pm to 6pm and the same with SCD. That's the only reason.

Yes .

Perhaps not boring, but certainly the most disappointing.

i agree it wasnt a patch on last years strictly but it was still good, not as poor as the article is making out!! i think getting rid of old pros and bringing in new pros woudl be dissapointing as there what makes the show!!!

id love to see more compition between the pros and see a bit of bitching

I think they need to get the judges marking sensibly. It is not the 9 or 10 marks that some argue about that bothers me, you can expect that sort of differences between the judges. Its when you get differences of 5 marks that it means they are not marking correctly.

Len who has usually been quite good seems to be getting very silly with his marks and comments. We get 3 judges saying its good and then Len says is rubbish. Something has to be wrong there.

Saturday's Guardian had an article which also mentioned a shake up.

From reading it maybe the results will be back where they belong - on a Saturday, although I will miss the results thread, and the wine, chocolate and pandas

I wouldn't be suprised if Bruce retired too.

Well, it's a damn sight closer to the mark than all of the judges' 'this is the best ever' nonsense. They confused the narrowing of the gap between the best dancers with the individual quality of each one. I just didn't care enough about anyone this time even to vote. Some obviously did, but one reason even this forum turned me off this year was it seemed as if some were making themselves love certain people in order to keep themselves interested. The whole thing seemed forced to me.

If the shake up means moving the results show back to live on Saturday then that's a good thing.

I think there should be a shakeup of the series. First up reduce the number of couples to 12 or 14, 16 is too many and the series takes too long to get going. Sort the judges out - they have obviously had their favourites this year and it showed in the marking, good as the couples were, there were too many 10s being handed out.
Have clear rules regarding the public vote and what happens if there is tie in the later stages. If someone drops out - have a plan in place to deal with the situation, don't wait till the semi final to sort it. Let the public know up front all of details of how you will deal with the above.

I expect the BBC is full of people with no knowledge of statistics and statistical error. However, the cult of yoof is no doubt coming back - when what made this prog's audience was that it appealled to all ages.

This bit of hypocrisy is the worst

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/strictly...-vote-row.html

They drive JS out because they are jealous of his popularity and putting some fun into it, then when it all goes wrong (due to a basic inability to do maths aka fixing the result to get the final as they want it), hey try to blame him again. Ironic really that the one, who should have been kicked off last week and remained the one with the lowest judges' marks still won!

Apparently they are looking for younger celebrities.

I wish tv would get over this ridiculous obsession it has with youth .

Strictly's core audience is not 16-20 year olds and chasing this demograph is a waste of time. I'm in my late 20s and I don't want vacuous pretty things on my TV on a saturday evening. I want celebs with a bit of personality and wit. Who captured the hearts of the viewers this year? John Sergent, that's who.

For example, I think people like Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroc (don't know how to spell it) would be great celebrities to bring on board. But no doubt BBC executives would prefer some eighteen year old air-head eye-candy off Hollyoaks.

Note to any BBC researchers out there. I'd prefer celebrities with personality. That is all, thanks.
