Jill is lively and Rachel is demure - I'm presuming they will both perform dances that allow them to express their respective personalities and thereby play to their strengths?

A show needs a mixture of upbeat numbers as well as moving ones, so I'm sure Jill an Rachel will each make an equally worthwhile contribution.

At any rate, as fans of the show, don't people watch the tour for pure enjoyment, putting aside the competitive element? Why do the celebrities always have to be played off against one another? Can't they just be appreciated for their differing talents?

I'm bumping this thread just to ask a question.

I never went to the tour before, and decided to go. I found a single ticket available in row F at the LG arena, Birmingham. Is the view reasonably okay there? The reason I never went before is that I can imagine that in arenas, the dancers will be too small to see properly from most places. Is it definitely a good experience?

If I'm being perfectly honest, I was in two minds about buying tickets to the tour until I heard the mighty Halfpenny was doing it. That sold it for me. She's the reason I'm going and will be who I vote for, even if she's outdanced by any of the aforementioned (which I, in my bias oppinion , can't see happening!)

You are right about Jill and Gethin. With Geth dancing with Flavia, there is the possibility of both sets of fans voting for them.

I don't think it is exactly right for this year as there isn't actually a Block A D39 as far as I can see (by coincidence we have the same seats as you, I'm assuming for a different night ). I hope you're right about no-one in front though, that would be awesome!

Yeah because on the last tour, James and Ola were special guests and they did a dance as well as being part of the pro Latin medley too. So that'll be the same with Kristina and Matt. And also the list of couples on the new tour is spot on.

Well the tour starts in Newcastle and as Jill is a from that part of the world I expect her to do well there to start off with. I am pretty sure she will do well an win several shows. However it also depends on the judges scores just like on the 'real' show and they do like to mix the top couples up a bit. I expect shows to be won by Jill, Gethin & Tom, I would personally also like to see Rachel win some as she is a great dancer, and I dont find watching a great dancer boring or bland, and Vincent is electrifying live. Cherie and James and Jodie and Ian may win some too people vote for different things on the tour I think. Last year of the 8 couples the wins were spread out amongst 4 of them with dear Letitia and Darren winning ONE even too which I am sure meant a great deal to them.

I'd be interested to know what people are dancing - Geth's and Kenny's choices are known, Jill's obviously gonna be jiving - it's as much her signature dance as Zoe's tango was hers, Cherie will almost certainly be rhumba'ing as she can't really do anything else in the latin round and Rachel will be doing hers too as that's her dance. However three of the tourers danced foxtrots in the final and one of them will have to do something different and someone will have to do a tango for variety's sake - my money's on Rachel for that unless she does an AT and someone else does a ballroom tango, possibly Tom. Jodie's waltz is regarded with a lot of affection so she might to do that.

Julian's best dance was his qs I understand and no one else is doing that and I think he might do the samba was no one else is doing that and the costume was something else - I think that was the one with the macracas. Tom danced salsa in the final so he'll probably be doing that along with Gethin. The real question is who gets roped into doing the cha cha cha - it'll probably fall to Ian and Jodie who've never done it before as I can't see Cherie wanted to do the dance she got eliminated doing over her lovely rhumba nor are they going to make the current champ repeat his first dance.
