I dont think they were always undermarked. Theres some clips on youtube where they were top of the judges leaderboard but still didnt end up in the top 2 when the votes were added on!
I do think its more because of her popularity then his.

Yes I have been thinking about that too, but as they are no doubt going for the comedy element I dont suppose it will really matter too much.

Interesting to hear he was given the choice between Flavia and Kristina, Jan. I'm a Matt and Flavia fan and I'll certainly be voting for her and Gethin. I love her with Matt obviously but if I had to pick another partner for her it would be Gethin because I did like him last season too. I think they'll dance well together. Will be interesting to see if she totally sticks to Camilla's choreography or changes some of it though because as dancers Flavia and Camilla are like chalk and cheese and I just think some of Cam's salsa choreo looked great on Cam but would look a bit odd on Flavia. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Thanks for that, I am sure that Flavia will add her own twist to things but I am hoping that the waltz will be much the same but the salsa we will have to see, Flavia wont be wearing that awful outfit of Cams (hopefully) with all the fringing.
The GGs were rather hoping to see the Salsa shirt again but in his SCD articles he mentioned 'hot pink' for the tour but this may be a joke as we know he only wore a pink cravat on series 5 and wouldnt wear it otherwise.
After our conversation was over I realised that he hadnt mentioned Lilia as an option but perhaps she had 'gone' to Julian already !!
What we can be sure of is that he will give it his all, as under that rather reserved outer shell, beats the heart of a very competative man, who will be wanting to make up for the loss in the semi final and the narrow defeat on the xmas special last year.

We are going to the O2 on 7th Feb (it's a Saturday) and we return home on the Sunday. That may be ok for you if you work.
I wonder if Julian chose Lilia then! Thinking about it I guess he probably did, since he wouldn't have met Flavia or Kristina before.
They were marked top the night I went, and they were heavily playing up the fact that she was from Birmingham, but they didn't get votes. I think the other couples regularly topping the leaderboard were all too popular for Denise to have a chance even when she won the judges' leaderboard.

Why had "they better do" that?.
A lot of "Flavia and Matt" fans might decide they are only that...and therefore vote for who they think is the best on the night they are there.
Personally, I probably will vote for Flavia on tour, being a "Flavia fan", as well as a "Matt and Flavia fan" and therefore be voting for Gethin in the process. I'm sure Flavia will be able to add the 'spark' that was missing from Gethin last year, to make his dances a bit more exciting to watch...and hopefully she will win on the night that I'm there.
I do like Flavia but i think Gethin would have been a lot better off paired with Kristina or Lilia (moreso Lilia).
I think out of all the female pros Lilia would have managed to get the best out of Gethin (dancing wise) and i'd love to see her win a few dates on the tour with him.

Fair enough..
It probably was because she wasnt as popular as some of the other celebs on the tour (dont see why, she was a good dancer and seemed a nice enough person, as i said earlier its probably because she hasnt danced on our screens for a while..)

it probably would of been alot better, flavia with julian and lillia with gethin..

The unpopularity (comparatively) of the Matt and Denise partnership may have down to a number of factors - 1) unlike any of the partnerships on tour this year they didn't really know each other before they started dancing together that year so the chemistry took a while to gel 2) people were used to seeing him dance with Alesha which he'd been doing up to the point of the tour - i.e Denise was his first partner after Alesha (apparently he even called her Alesha a few times at first) and so although a very good dancer she suffered from the after the Lord Mayor's Show factor. A lot of his fans feel in love with his partnership with Alesha and so possibly found him dancing with someone else a bit odd. Both factors were probably compounded by one of their dances being the intimate rhumba which invited comparisons with Alesha and highlighted the intial lack of chemistry - had they been doing the samba for example - which Denise danced in the final and is a less intimate dance that Alesha didn't really shine that much doing - they might have done better.
