Mince pies and mulled wine!

I thought we should have a new thread to anticipate the Christmas Special. I have enough mince pies and mulled wine for all.

There might be a spoiler thread after the filming but let’s keep thread spoiler free as I haven’t put "spoiler" in the title. It will also be easier for people to find the result if it’s separate. Thanks.

Anyway, I think that they have a great line up this year and I’m not sure who will win. No doubt there will be a flurry of 10s and lots of cheesy comments. It will be the perfect accompaniment to my Christmas Day supper of stuffing sandwiches.

I can’t wait.

Here's your *smooch* plus a mince pie and wine.

Now can we have your thoughts on the show?

I don't like mince pies or mulled wine! Can I have mojitos and chicken wings??

Very excited for Christmas Special. I think Kelly & Brian will go really well together, I'm always excited to see Jill (particularly after her amazing performance last night), Alesha and Matt are doing ballroom so will be nice to see that for a change and of course Lisa&Brendan are doing a QS to my fave xmas song so that's exciting too!

Whoop!

I don't like mince pies either. I just thought it was the right thing to offer at this time of year.

Perhaps everyone should bring along what they fancy.

PS. Alli & Cassie - before you go there, I mean food and drink not your favourite pro-dancer!

*applies copious amounts of lypsal after a series of Strictly that can only be described as a smoochathon*

I'm looking forward to seeing Jill as I didn't catch the Strictly bug until Series 3 so I would love to see her dance something other than the Jive - and I've heard she's doing an American Smooth

I think her main competition will come from Alesha who is performing a VW - which was my favourite dance of hers last year.

I'll also be interested to see whether I find Kelly more bearable when she's partnered with Brian

Thanks for this thread, Cat, I've brought a chocolate Yule Log and a tin of Quality Street.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Jill again, it should be very interesting seeing her & Alesha knock spots off all the others.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Jill & Darren's AS. They didn't do that dance in SCD 2 so it's a new one for them.

Jill looked very sharp on last nights show - it should be good.

My Christmas Radio Times just says Jill, Alesha and Kelly against the top 3 from this year. That would make Tom the only male celeb!

I'm a Chapstick girl myself!

Oh is that mistletoe I see there Sid?

<smooooocheeewooooocheeee>

I think the Christmas special is going to be fab and so close!

Can't wait to see everybody and yes, I mean everybody (that was said in my best Brucie voice) even Kelly dance as she's dancing with the very smoochable Mr Brian Fortuna!

What with Alesha and Matt doing their magical VW and Jill and Darren doing the AS for the first time, I think we'll be overwhelmed with WOW! moments!

Just in case you don't know the line up -

Jill Halfpenny & Darren Bennett - American Smooth to 'Favourite things' by Barry Manilow
Kelly Brook & Brian Fortuna - Jive to 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree'
Alesha Dixon & Matthew Cutler - Viennese Waltz to 'White Christmas' by Otis Reading
Tom Chambers & Camilla Dallerup - Foxtrot to 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer' by Lena Horne
Lisa Snowdon & Brendan Cole - Quickstep to 'Sleigh Ride' by The Ronettes
Rachel Stevens & Vincent Simone - Rumba to '2 Become 1' by The Spice Girls
Thanks to Greytop here is the official blurb on the show.

We're back for a special festive edition of Strictly Come Dancing on Christmas Day (BBC One at 7pm), featuring routines from six Strictly fantastic couples from past and present:

Jill Halfpenny & Darren Bennett - American Smooth to 'Favourite things' by Barry Manilow
Kelly Brook & Brian Fortuna - Jive to 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree'
Alesha Dixon & Matthew Cutler - Viennese Waltz to 'White Christmas' by Otis Reading

Plus this year's finalists:
Tom Chambers & Camilla Dallerup - Foxtrot to 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer' by Lena Horne
Lisa Snowdon & Brendan Cole - Quickstep to 'Sleigh Ride' by The Ronettes
Rachel Stevens & Vincent Simone - Rumba to '2 Become 1' by The Spice Girls

Will our former dancing queens - Jill, Kelly and Alesha - give this year's superb finalists a run for their money? Find out which couple will be crowned Strictly Christmas Champions 2008.

And if all that drama on the dance floor wasn't enough - Russell "The Voice" Watson will be on the show with a very special festive performance, accompanied by a routine from our professional dancers.

PS. You beat me to it Buddy!

Don't take my word for it, but I thought I heard them say Austin was going to be in it? Perhaps I'm just hearing what I want to hear. I'd love to see Cherie again too.

I love mulled wine. I'll let someone else have my mince pie though if you don't mind

I would love it if Austin was joining in - I understand that it is recorded tomorrow maybe we'll get a little bird to tell us?

Ah, the spirit of christmas, how lovely.

The judges have only 9's and 10's

Everyone will be in a festive mood!

It's the story of the King and his 5 Queens going head-to-head in a battle of the dance!

Not a mince pie kinda gall, but I'll have some bonbons

And even I'll throw a <smoooooooch> Sid's way

P.S. thanks for the fruit punch Cat!
