What's wrong with Tess?

I fail to see why she gets all the negative comments on the board. I like her.

I like her too. Granted she's no Claudia, but then Claudia would be wasted on the main show. Tess doesn't have much to do. I'd like to see her get to do more next year, ease the burden on Brucie.

I used to think she was lovely, but I've gone off her a bit for the following reasons:

- her (I think snide) comment to Matt and Flavia last year during the final, about whether they would be seeing each other after the final. Flavia, Matt and Vincent were obviously all trying to sort out their personal lives, and I thought it was inappropriate of Tess to bring it up.
- with one of the couples last year, she asked a question that they had just answered in a comment just before she asked it (I can't remember who it was now, but at the time, I remember thinking )
- she has STILL not managed to learn to dance the few steps at the beginning of each show. Her clumsy and inelegant steps were sort of endearing, but, after 6 series, it's a bit

Oh good let's bash Tess

When you have all run thru the celebs, professional dancers, judges, and presenters who will you target next?

How about the smug cameraman who whizzes round the dance floor. Now I have a conspiracy theory about him........................................

Honestly? The problem I have with Tess is that I don't actually think she's very good at her job. Obviously, presenting live television is difficult, but she often comes out with non-sequiturs and nonsense - and she made a bit of a mess of the leaderboard in the final, as well.

The fact that six series and lessons from Anton still haven't led to her getting that dance at the beginning of every Saturday show right is just funny, I think.

She's got terrible dress sense - when will she ever learn that she needs better support when wearing strapless dresses?

She's just not very bright.

I remember some of the women who used to co-host the Generation Game with Bruce (the one whose name I can't recall at the moment is married to Robert Lindsay [actor] and maybe have presented Come Dancing at one point), but they were usually highly educated multi-skilled women who could sing & dance and join in during the musical rounds etc.

I don't why know Bruce is being paired with someone so untalented; she is by far the weakest link in the presenting team or the 'team of people that you see like the judges and the celebs and the pros and Bruce and Claudia etc.) and is dreadful value for money.

Ah, it was Rosemarie Ford.

I think her name was Rosemary and she was a true professional. Tess is substandard.

For me Tess comes over as a little panto I'm always waiting for her to slap her thigh. Her gurning while Bruce talks is so off putting.

She sort of epitomizes the empty headed but good looking enough to not worry about her being a very average presenter. Surely the BBC could find someone with some real talent, someone with a brain capable of interacting with the celebs really listening to what they say instead of talking nonsense cos she 's not really listening to their words just what her ear piece is squawking

I think thats why she comes in for so much stick

Last night was the third series final I've watch. I still remember the lovely speech Matt Dawson made thanking Lilia and congratulating Ramps, and last night I thought Rachel was very gracious in defeat. All I remember of Matt and Flavia is them both looking like they wanted the ground to open up and swallow them due to Tess putting her foot in it.

I really like Tess .

To be honest, I could not imagine Strictly ever being the same without Tess or Brucie.

I was a bit when she was talking to Austin and Matt Dawson in the semi-final. It's not just, as many FMs have pointed out, that she ignored Erin who was sitting on the other side of her, it's also the fact that she kept leaning back right into Erin's face! You could see Erin was really uncomfortable and was expecting Tess to bang right into her. I'm sure Tess knew someone was sitting there and she should have been more considerate and careful.

I formed an opinion of Tess several years ago when I watched a programme called 'Faking it' in which an ordinary person was faking at being a director.

The would be director made a few inevitable mistakes but Tess was extremely snotty towards them IMO.

Every time she smiles sweetly at the camera I can't help but see the little madam that she showed herself to be in that particular programme.

Nothing wrong with Tess shes just really icey at times (she looked like she was thining clear off to Rachel and Vincent when she wanted to bring Tom and Camilla into shot for the showdance)

But anyone could do her job.

I still resent the fact she almost sat on Erin to talk to Austin.

I don't like the woman. I've heard she can be very stand offish to members of the public, she wants to keep her distance from the plebs .

She should remember where she came from and who helped her to get this far.

I remember that too and it was insensitive to Vincent too when he went to the tabloids he quite understandably had a go at her for it and other comments during the series. I also find it appalling that she's never apologised for it saying it was obvious to anyone what was going on - well maybe it was but it didn't help any of the three involved to deal with the situation.
