I apologize in advance if this topic has been covered before, I can't seem to find any threads.
I should have listened to the negative reviews on the K850i before I opted for this particular model, but I'm guilty as charged of turning a blind eye, so I've only myself to blame - I've had several Sony Ericsson's over recent years, and all have went without a hiccup until tonight.
Over recent weeks my K850i was inadvertently cutting out and turning itself off for reasons best know to itself. It was only a matter of switching the phone back on again and all was fine, even tho' it was a pain to have to do something which shouldn't need doing if you catch my drift. Well tonight the screen finally blacked out and the keypad lit up like a xmas tree and wouldn't go out, not only that, but it would neither switch on nor switch off! the phone was completely frozen if you like.
I've tried everything from taking the battery out to removing the sim card, charging it, etc,etc...but nothing works...it's basically screwed.
If I wasn't tied to a contract I wouldn't give a hoot, but as anyone on a contract will know, you don't get the phone for free, it's a hidden charge included in the monthly bill, so by all intents and purposes I'm paying for something that currently doesn't work. To make matters worse, I can't insert the sim card into another phone because I don't have another, any old contract phone I did possess was filtered away to family and friends (that'll teach me!) so now I'm going to have to go and buy a new phone until I get this problem sorted out.
I can't do without a phone - and what a time for the phone to go down - a couple of days before xmas too! you couldn't make it up.
My point is... has this particular problem ever happened to any other FM, and if so, how did you resolve it? is there some software that can sort it out? or is the phone just simply screwed and needs replaced? and that's another issue! what's the chances of the network giving me a new phone.
Feedback would be appreciated folks - my mobile is my lifeline.
Cheerz.
