Scd 6 - Lessons To Be Learned
footygirl
22-12-2008
O.K well that is another series done and dusted- but some lessons need learning- by the PTB

1. Judges confine yourselves to judging- not pushing your favourites down our throats.

2. A little more realistic marking please- no ridiculous overmarking in an attempt to crowbar your pets into the next round.

3. The dance off must go when we reach the two dance on one night stage. After the judges have scored the dances the public must have total control over who stays or who goes

4. Viewers confine yourselves to viewing...not pushing your silly paranoia down others' throats.

5. A little more realistic posting please...no ridiculous over-reacting or attempting to crowbar your pet conspiracy theories into the realms of reality.

6. Shouting "FIX! FIX!" every time an elimination doesn't go your way gets old very quickly.

The dance off needs to go altogether. The absurdities in public voting have intensified since it was introduced.

all new professionals or maybe only professionals who have less than 3yrs service. the professionals have their own fanbases now and that distorts the voting.

as much as the professionals are held in very high regard on these boards no-one can fail to be impressed with the new professionals kristina and brian so it can work.

no more dance off. if you come last with the public then that's that.

oh and results show must be on a saturday!!!

Stop messing the scheduling around. 6pm is too early - a lot of people I know (me included) have to Sky+ it and start watching when we get in on a Saturday. No wonder the viewing figures are dropping.

Give the judges a talking to so that they stop ramming their favourites down our throats and telling us how to vote. They should comment only - not be personal.

Results show on Saturdays.

Well I would give Len and Bruno the boot- and give their jobs to Anton(ballroom authority) and Karen who has the latin background.

Then the producer should haul each one in for a talk and remind them that they must be impartial and fair to everyone-i.e no selective vision.
And that they cannot overmark anyone just to keep them out of the danger zone because they like them

Put a gag order on the judges so they cannot talk about strictly or any of the contestants away from the judges table. No appearances on ITT or other TV shows and no newspaper articles. They keep telling us their job is to judge, well judge then but dont stir things up with comments made outside the confines of the programme.

7. The public will always believe that the show is biased against the male dancers, and towards the female dancers no matter what you do. Carry on as you are.

eh - there's been six series and 3 male and 3 female dancers have won? evidence might suggest that there is no evidence of bias one way or the other (or am I misinterpreting the meaning of 50%)

Results show should be on Saturday night please!! Ever hear of the tem "surfing the web" People are well aware of the result by Sunday evening !!!

Understand the need for "fresh blood" in new Pros - but DON'T forget some consistency - Pros like Brendan & Darren/Lillia - should stay - no need for ALL the Pros to go!!

Really open your eyes and LEARN from the J.S walkout !!

And by God - learn from the Tom (The Great Escape) Chambers scenario for God's Sake!!
A complete Joke if ever there was one!

KEEP the Pro Section to the Show - or better still give what's now termed the"old pros" their OWN show!! These same Pros who clearly have worked their socks off over the last 6 series and the fact remains - there would be NO Strictly Come Dancing without the Pros.

And EVERYTHING does NOT have to be about TV Ratings & beating the X Factor - ie Showmance - getting headlines for the show, PR at all costs - that's just pathetic, the DANCING speaks for itself.

Just wake up and smell the coffee !!!!!!!

There's a difference between "the system as a whole produces evenly balanced results gender wise" and "the public think the judges/producers/entire show is biased in favour of women".

If you look at who gets scored "over-marked" and "teacher's pet" every single series, I think it's perfectly obvious that the public believe the show favours female dancers. I've never seen a leading male contestant called either of the above consistently. The only leading female contestant I haven't seen been called it is Jill.

At the end of the series, the judges to stand before the sitting pro dancers and celebs and be marked for their performance.

Bruce. It's all very well instructing viewers to do their shopping early, but what about those of us who work in the shops and have to stay hours after closing to clean up the mess that was made. Later timeslot please - Maybe I'm alone in saying I'd rather chose between the X Factor and SCD than miss one and catch the other. At least then I'd have the option to watch SCD.
