Kept to a manageable 15 the wish list maps not my preferences but issues wellknown in the Forum. One wish only makes for a hard choice, but the final decision does reflect a considered priority.

On Tuesday morning 30th December when this poll closes the email below will reach high personages in the BBC attaching this thread. After a stormy SCD6 and now known to be in the process of shaping SCD7, BBC management will likely be in a receptive mood to audience feedback, particularly from the DS Forum comprised of the keenest and most knowledgeable Strictly fans.

More voters, more credibility - please make your voice heard.

Too late to add more wishes now, but if anyone would like to suggest amendments to the letter below please PM me. A Beautiful Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Dear BBC,

Attached the link for an online poll conducted in Digital Spy Strictly Come Dancing Forum, with one person one vote, 23-30 December 2008. Our Forum contains probably the most committed and knowledgeable SCD fans who have no other wish than an ever more enjoyable Strictly each year.

While voting on serious concerns raised by SCD6, this poll is far from being criticism only, witness the warm approval for BBC’s decision to bring in Kristina and Brian – well done BBC

Did you have to put Brendan on the list?

There should be no more 16 couples. I think 12 or 14 is the right amount (I'm a big Strictly fan but this year did go on for too long).

Brian and Kristina to return. I would not mind if Nicole Cutler returned either. Not too keen on Jordans or Hayley (sorry)

Why not? I think it is a list of possibilities. Brendan does rub people up the wrong way

Voted for no dance off (don't actually mind it in the early stages just not later once the obvious non public favourites are clear).

Would also like to see paired dance weeks with Latin & Ballroom doing a straight swap the following week so there is a like for like comparison still having both dance types each week to prevent boredom though.

This would also prevent couples having several weeks of doing one sort or the other and the difficulty of dance style could increase as the weeks go on.

This is a good poll and I am sure I am not the only one who would have picked several of the options.
I would like to see the fun and entertainment put back into the "Strictly Come Dancing."
Then a seperate revival show of "Come Dancing" for proper Ballroom and Latin experts and ex-dancer judges.

I didn't have a favourite in SCD but I did enjoy Tom's final dance and so did he. Glad he took the crown just for that.

Voted for no more dance-off especially in the latter stages of the competition.

I picked no dance-off but there's so many other things I would have happily voted for as well:

» No more 16 couples IF it means less than that. I'd hate to think we might get more contestants!

» No more fake Sunday results shows.

» Hayley didn't make much of an impact so I wouldn't object if she wasn't invited back. Nor would I object if James didn't come back.

» I'd love Kristina and Brian to come back.

» Gag the judges outside the Saturday show. Well, not so much gag them as give them a few PR lessons and make them understand that as long as they're blatantly prejudiced in their marking (either for or against any contestant) the public will continue to vote in opposition to them. Also teach them how to criticise without sounding spitefully vindictive - I'm sure they don't mean to sound like that but, unfortunately, it's how they come across all too often.

» No more elderly fun-only celebs. I can't quite decide about this one. On the one hand, I really enjoyed watching John in the early stages of the competition but, on the other hand, he remained in the competition longer than I would have liked. And I was surprised Don was voted out as early as he was because I thought he could possibly have become quite good. And, let's face it, SCD wouldn't be nearly as entertaining if we didn't have a mix of abilities and potential at the beginning of the competition. So I'm still sitting on the fence on this one

Unless the weekly results show is going to be very short indeed, I can't see the Beeb being able to devote sufficient time to air both the competition and the results on the same night. Not everyone is a Strictly fan, or can even tolerate that kind of show, I'm sure there would be valid objections to devoting 2 hours prime time on a Saturday night to dancing for weeks on end.

I don't understand what's wrong with showing the results on a Sunday night.

parthena (an avid Strictly fan, show it 365 nights as far as I'm concerned )

We had a Saturday results show up until and including series4 and it was just fine with me. Also apart from the fakeness of a recorded Sunday show killing the suspense, having SCD on 7 nights a week including Claudia is serious overkill.

So many choices but I've gone for no more sunday result shows as I feel they kill the buzz.

I was close to going for Judges gagged outside of Saturday, no more dance off and no more James.

Just basically cop on & wake up & smell the coffee before they lose such a brilliant show!!

Really LEARN from the J.Sergeant incident & the voting fiasco.

Stop trying to constantly "outdo" the X Factor in trying to beat ratings and in the process losing the soul of Strictly Come Dancing - There is NO NEED for contrived headlines for the newspapers, Showmance & the Like - the DANCING speaks for itself !

KEEP the Pros - or if they are that bothered about the Pros who are now it seems considered "Old-Hat" - these same said Pros who have danced their socks off every week, some since Series 1, In truth there would be NO Strictly Come Dancing without them!
Let those Pros have their own show - I think that would be brilliant - then we'd see just how "tired, old-hat, past their sell by date" they really are!!!!!

I really would have like to vote for the return of Kristine and Brian (I hope they do) and also for no more dance off, but I felt compelled to vote for no more Bruce ( he's the only thing that spoils it for me )

So many to choose from!

I took a few days to mull it over and I have voted for no fake sunday night results show,as the show lost so much of it's excitement for me,not having the rush of adrenalin waiting to see who goes out later on the same evening.

I would also like less couples,no single sex elimination rounds, and more of a chance to get tickets for the public like we used to be able to.Seeing so many celebs in the audience gets my goat, why do they get the chance to go and not us,the actual phone voters?
