No more dance offs and judges having their say. Leave it to the public vote.

My new wish is that the rumour about Alesha replacing Arlene on the judges panel is just another Strictly wind-up tale...

I never, ever thought my addiction to SCD would be in doubt - but Alesha on the panel just might have the same effect on me as methadone to a drug addict. |

Me too Stu - but somehow I think that when making our wish we forgot to shut our eyes: perhaps we failed to blow out all the candles on the birthday cake, or maybe we didn't make enough effort when we pulled the wishbone.

I'm gobsmacked that the rumour was true - but I'm glad Arlene has gone, sorry Bruno is still there and if we have to have someone without a professional ballroom/Latin dancing background then I'm glad they chose Alesha as at least she has been through the whole Strictly experience. |

Hi Ignazio!
I'm gobsmacked that the rumour was true - but I'm glad Arlene has gone, sorry Bruno is still there and if we have to have someone without a professional ballroom/Latin dancing background then I'm glad they chose Alesha as at least she has been through the whole Strictly experience. I didn't mind Arlene too much. Her high pitched voice cut through me and her drooling over males young enough to be her sons made me cringe; but I did think she offered constructive criticism and good advice. I find both jack-in-the-box Bruno and pompous Len far more irritating and although I often agree with Craig I find his insults neither clever nor amusing. There - I've made a case for sacking everyone except Arlene. ![]() As for Alesha - it is a dance competition, so there shouldn't be room for anyone whose only qualification is, "I've been there, done that, worn the t shirt." She may have experienced the roller coaster of emotions, she may be aware of the work and effort necessary - but that isn't what they're being judged on. Big mistake imo. |

Hey Buddy, long time no see.

I agree about Alesha, but if the BBC were adamant about having a non-professional ballroom/Latin judge then I'm happy with their choice as I loved Alesha on SCD - if you see what I mean!

One of my wishes has been granted.
No more of Arlene. She is so rude to the contestants and sits there chewing a wasp if something upsets her. She's not replaced for ageism but rudeness. But I do think that one of the professional dancers (eg. Karen) should replace her who is a real judge. |

I didn't vote on this but it would probably have been for no single-sex elimination rounds. However I have often expressed the view that the judges should be changed. But of course that view was always qualified by my saying that we needed more ballroom expertise on the panel (not less). But who knows how the BBC producers decide to interpret the forums and their own message boards? There's always been quite a bit of criticism of Arlene on here and elsewhere and so they probably thought everyone would be happy if they replaced her.

Obvious: Both Kristina and Brian HAVE to return.
This is non-negotiable. |
