Delta havin cancer has NOTHING to do with it. I think she has a beautiful voice. I think she is lovely because she doesnt give in to the stereotype of all female singers being in FHM/Maxim or being scantily clad in their videos.

yes, because delta has the talent and the determination to be as big as them. When delta is able to promote in america delta will be massive and i will hold myself to that statement.
Delta is a role model because she doesnt use sex to sell her music. Delta has always wanted to be a singer and now she finally persued her dreams. Thats why delta is a great role model ad i'm sure lots of people agree with that.

Yes, but then again we are humans and like any other species we look to mate and to do this we flaunt ourselves to get male/female attention. She might not be a slut, but all of this innocence ain't going to make her a role model. BeautyIsDelta - we can see that you're a big fan, and that you want other people to see that Delta has beauty and talent in abundance, and to plead her case to people who haven't discovered her like you have - but you aren't giving a very balanced argument, are you?

I am traditionally not a fan of big-voiced female balladeers, and I think that Not Me Not I is easily the most powerful single she has released so far after some pleasant but not really groundbreaking tunes. I think she is possibly one of the most naturally beautiful females in pop at the moment, and possibly the one with the most talent at such a young age (Christina Milian notwithstanding). But to put her up there next to Mariah Carey, Madonna or Michael Jackson just undermines your case massively - in no way, shape or form is Delta even CLOSE to being one of the great names in pop music, and even if every song she had released so far was a worldwide Number One she wouldn't have reached those dizzy heights - these things take time. I'm not saying she won't get there (although i have a hunch that she won't - the US is a HUGE challenge and I honestly can't see her making more than a moderate mark there), but you have to stop holding her up as the best thing since sliced bread and accept that even the success she has had so far has been incredible and more than most artists could ever hope to achieve.

Delta is a hottie, no doubt - but her getting all skimpy and bouncing around like Britney would just kill her marketability dead - she's not a bubblegum pop performer and neither should she be - it doesn't reflect her talents. Yes, i'd love to see her in an FHM shoot, but where's the benefit in it for her? Brilliant - you'd get a few hand shandies out of it, but would you go out and buy her records? Hell no. Stop judging her by the wrong criteria.

By whose criteria? Let me put it this way - Linkin Park haven't had a single number one yet - is that because their 'image' isn't working? Not everybody is going to be the best-selling artist on the globe.

For what Delta has set out to achieve, she's kicking ass at it. You're judging her by criteria she couldn't care less about - and the only people who DO care about it are teenage boys who aren't getting laid. Word is bond.

I wasn't saying that I want her to change to that criterium, I just think she could grab more fans (obviously male) if she did tone up her outfits, I am not saying she isn't sexy cause she bloody well is!!! Her image isn't bad at all, but I do think all of her songs sound relavtively the same.

Delta is (in my opinion) unique to the music industry. She can't really be compared with pop acts such as Britney or Kylie because her whole approach is completely different. I think that Delta is extremely successful simply due to the fact that modern day pop artists would find it very hard to achieve her level of success at that style of music. She is unable to promote her music on the international side of things which in my opinion is a contributing factor for her not being a huge smash hit. Here in Australia where we have known her for ages and have seen alot of her promotion (she has done some, but not much in the uk also) he is an absolute rawing success. Once she is able to promote her music i think she will reach a new level.
Oh and watch out for the single "Predictable". It's quite different to what we have already heard from her (on the singles front anyway).

I knew she'd be releasing a 5th single off her debut album....which incidentally I know would be her 6th Oz single, correct? as she relased 'I Don't Care' at 16.
After having 4 Oz No.1 singles, a No. 1 for at least 3 months in the Oz charts and winning 9 ARIAs recently, I think its a safe bet, that Delta could crack the USA in style.

the Innocent Eyes album reached No. 2 in the UK, btw and has sold over 400,000 copies to date with 3 top 10 singles my favourite as I've said before is 'Lost without You', brilliant video...plus it was number one in Oz for around 7 weeks.

But with the greatest of respect, the Australian music market is even more of a backwater than the UK market in comparison to the States. Ever hear of the phrase "Big fish in a small pond"?

I honestly can't see Delta making anything more than a moderate splash in the States - even their homegrown female 'serious' solo performers - Vanessa Carlton, Leann Rimes, Michelle Branch - aren't setting the world on fire over there.

I find her very one dimensional and dull. I compare her to Celine Dion except with the addition of a piano which she can't seem to part with. An up tempo song seems out of the question and when you compare her to other female piano maestros (e.g. Alicia Keys and Norah Jones) she comes across as very plain.

Any pop star coming from Neighbours already has credibility gap the size of the Grand Canyon. But coming out with mellow, electro-free pop, she has at least estabilished her credentials as a serious musician.

One person's mellow, relaxing music is another person's boring dull and bland music. You can't please everyone.
