Now you're talking.
Points for hair and costumes.
That would make it a much more entertaining programme.

Personally I think the judges should deduct a point for unkempt hair (although Tom's very slick hair style might have earned an extra point and cancelled this out). ”

Well you might be joking, but I just say Mark Ramprakash and James Jordan and "SEVEN" Len.

Mark made me chuckle in the final after the Tango when Len was critiquing and he said 'I've had my hair cut mate!'

Matter of taste.
I'd add points for her hair - natural, nice.
And deduct them for the costume - brown palazzo pants. Palazzo pants get a cautious reception from me but brown - get outta town.

Well I'll be seeing Camilla in 4 days time and I promise to pass on the concerns expresssed here about her personal grooming

...I doubt she'll be devastated though

Oh, and talking of the 'comic' look for the showdance, Lisa's outfit was a dead ringer for something I saw in a window in Amsterdam a couple of months ago...Naturally I just kept walking

Yep and James Jordan had his cut as soon as Len indicated that he didn't like it. Imagine if he did the same to the women. "Camilla/Erin/Karen your hair looks untidy, get it cut". Their faces would be priceless.

the hair and the outfit were wrong...so wrong but fortunately it was all about the dancing - well the showdance at least.

I agree about James's hair earlier on in the series. Also I'd have definitely deducted points for those shoes that Tom wore when he did the quickstep (was it?) earlier on in the series. And as for Mark Foster's fishnet top, well.....I'm in two minds about that.

I'd tell Len to go and.........

I remember last year Len saying on ITT that he didnt like Alesha's hair being down a flowing in the Paso, he said it should have been in a bun as the spanish do. So perhaps we should have points for dancing and points for presentation/artistic impression like they do in skating. That would certainly have evened out the scores a bit this year when for instance Rachel would score highly for technical ability and less for artistic impression and the other way around for Tom .......blimey thats a serious point on a fun thread but perhaps thats the answer, perhaps there wouldnt have been so much fuss about Rachel being dull and getting high scores for her technical skill and Tom getting marked down for footwork but putting on a good performance, as it would have evened itself out a bit more.

Kind of OT, but have you seen this picture from the final?

I looked at it for ages trying to work out what wasn't right... then realised Camilla is a foot off the ground!

It does look odd. Either Tom is very strong, or Camilla is jumping, or she's holding on to a balloon which is lifting her up.

Hey, I didn't notice, Tom was wearing those shoes again, but this time it kind of went with the outfit!

Incidentally, I couldn't have agreed less with Len on that - I thought the hairstyle actually added a lot to the drama of the performance.

I adore her, but yes, her hair wasn't the best - nor was it last week in the semi TBH. But in her defence I think her hair is VERY fine and also she needed to be able to have it in two different styles both last week and this week, and I think that probably didn't help.

Wasn't that keen on the showdance outfit either but mainly because I come out in a nervous rash when exposed to anything vaguely harlequin-related *shudder*

TBH I am trying to steer clear of DS at the moment, all the Camilla-hate is REALLY doing my bloody head in.

I thought she looked lovely. Strange outfit but it suited the dance.

I was more worried about the manic expressions.

Compared to the other female dancers, Camilla looked very badly presented, which is absolutely nothing, to do, with her incredible dancing ability.... also, she's not too thin, she's a professional dancer, she's in excellent peak condition.

The point I was making, was that, as a Grand finale of a dance competition HER HAIR, only... looked scruffy, her outfit was lovely, her dancing amazing, but her hair was awful.. It was merely an observation....

there was a time, when presentation, of yourself, was also part of the points system, including hair and dress etc...

incidentally, i take my hat off to anyone, who has the ability to find a shell suit, these days, just to recreate, the whole vicky pollard image, just to post online... how fabulous... but, I think Shell suits, are vintage wear now.. worth a fortune are they not? so if you see one, grab it and sell it a sotheby's... lol lol lol lol

I think the problem with her hair was the fact it was changed a bit for each dance and she was tugging dresses on and off over it etc not to mention at one point being upside down!

The show dance outfit I wasn't sure about - mainly the sweety wrapper belt bit seemed to age her and didn't really go with Tom's tails but as the costume department had a vendetta against all women - Rachel's tango dress made her bum look big, the colour scheme of Lisa's Samba dress was yuck, Flavia appeared to be wearing a murdered muppet on her arms for her waltz and karens tin foil thing looked like it was out of Gary's kitchen.

So really there was no hope for hair!

You know what's really disappointed me this year? Tess' dresses They were my staple cheap laugh on the show for a couple of years but this year they were actually quite tolerable...Even (gulp) attractive once or twice

...Perhaps they sold the hairbrush to buy Tess some better togs

PS: Loved the murdered muppet reference

This might be an unpopular opinion to have regarding Saint Tom/Camilla but, me and my mum both commented on Camilla's untidy locks too - it wasn't a major criticism, just the sort of passing remark you make when watching people on TV.

I thought nothing more of it until I saw this thread.

She looked similarly scruffy last week too.
