help! How do i watch video on my n95?
hi guys, anyone out there able to help? I have an n95, which i use to surf the web. Anytime i try to access video tho, nothing happens! I'd like to be able to watch the football highlights on sites like bbc, do i have to download flash player or something? Where would i find a site that would help me download and install it directly to my phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The N95 has flash built-in. But make sure your firmware is up to date. When you say nothing happens, what do you mean. Do you get any error messages? How are you connecting? Can you give us an example of a link that doesn't work? Describe exactly what happens.

the problem is occuring when i try to view actual web pages, as opposed to wap pages. Take the bbc sport homepage for example. When i try to click on a 'watch highlights' link, the page loads up as normal, i can see the black 'screen' appear with the little buffering circle....then nothing. After a couple of seconds the circle stops spinning....and thats it! Sometimes clicking on a link doesnt even guarantee the 'blank screen', although every other part of the page appears, as normal

Ah, that means there is some sort of connection problem. Are you trying to view over 3G or Wi-fi.

Hi, I also have the exact same behaviour on BBC web site when trying to view live sport etc. until I recently de-branded my phone and installed latest firmware (V31). Now when I visit the same pages, the page loads up but all I get is the blue flash player logo, that looks like someone has ripped it into two pieces Any got any ideas? |

The n95 has Flash Lite, not the full flash player. It could be that Flash Lite doesn't support BBC videos.

(or older computers for that matter) |

The built in browser is capable of showing the videos. The player is loading and starts the buffering process, but the OP is reporting that it stops. This is normally a sign of insufficient bandwidth.

Could it still be a bandwidth issue? If my colleague sitting next to me in the office has an iphone which has no such problems using the same WIFI connection.

The iPhone browser doesn't support flash, so I'm not sure how your colleague is viewing the flash video. Perhaps, your colleague is using BBC iPlayer?

Guess i need to research some way of testing the bandwidth. Anyone got any ideas or links? |
