SuddenImpulse

Does anyone know for certain if the INQ1 can be unlocked?

Why would you want to unlock it has most of the features become unusable as they work on the three service only

Phone Three and ask. If it's a contract, they usually charge @ £15 at the end of a contract to unlock a phone. Not sure what the policy is for PAYG.

One company used to unlock nokia phones that were on Three. They've stopped now, pressure from Three?

That's wrong for a start. The feature on there work with any data connection provided the settings are right, possibly other than messenger.

I want to get one on 3's PAYG but use it on a contract elsewhere.

Are you sure about that? It's been reported that facebook, skype, last.fm and email, require the over the air update facility provided by Three, which isn't (yet) available on other netwroks.

The things I want it for, such as fb, myspace and youtube are available on my own network, Orange. I don't care much for the rest.

The Facebook etc is integrated into the phone and relies on the network. Also, the phone receives software updates automatically from the network. So you would never get an update as kielliam say.
