...in a sort of head-to-head, but the judges preferred Dixon, the audience favouring Halfpenny.

Rachel, Tom and Lisa were not even as good as Kelly Brook, who was great.

I preferred Alesha to Jill tonight...but Kelly surpassed them all and reminded me why she's my all time favourite.

I preferred Alesha but Jill and Kelly were very frenetic and may well have been more appealing in the studio. They all did well and it was great to see Kelly with Brian - great partnership, albeit short and sweet!

It was quite a close-run thing as initially the judges all marked both of them exactly the same. I'm glad, because although I liked both of them I do feel a bit sad for Jill that people think she could only do one dance when she was great at every latin and good at ballroom generally!

Although it will not stop people thinking what they want to think I suppose!

Yes Kelly was awesome and i definitely disagreed with the judges ranking her fourth. Maybe the Buck's Fizz move was a bit hard for them to digest! I still wonder, if she had not been forced to pull out last year, whether or not she would have won. Personally, I think she might have.

I don't think she was popular enough to win. She was bottom 2 in a week where she had a huge sob story and should've gone through if she had even an ounce of support. Matt went through on the night he messed up and he didn't even have a dead dad to explain it.

As i posted on the other thread...

Quite ironic that most the ones making it an Alesha V Jill thing are the folk that dont really support either of them. They just like to cause a reaction on here.

As an Alesha fan who enjoyed her dance the most i thought Jill was a worthy winner tonight and im happy for her and Darren, She looks amazing.
But ive noticed on here that the majority of genuine Alesha or Jill fans dont start this rivalry thing or compare and contrast, its other people on here. So im happy for all the GENUINE Jill fans that there fav won.

Can we not start another Jill v Alesha thread? They are both fabulous and both bring something to the floor.

Who knows?

My own pet highly speculative theory / hunch / guess / fantasy is that, if Kelly hadn't withdrawn, Gethin would have won.

Precisely! One thing's for sure though, they'd both wipe the floor with Natasha Kaplinski

How anyone can claim she can't dance...

I always thought it was a very close call between her & Alesha - each had different strengths & weaknesses. If she'd stayed in the final would have been electric.

However her drop-dead gorgeousness & Hollywood fiancé precluded her from the public support she deserved.

Well said, as huge Alesha fan I was happy for Jill and Darren.

And as a a huge Jill fan, I would have been happy to see Alesha win. I am actually a fan of both Jill and Alesha. Although that seems to be a crime around here!

Tell me about it! It's as though we have to love one and hate the other. Well I love them both and Jill deserved her win. It was the best AS ever seen on SCD.

Actually, like someone else was saying, most of the people I can identify on DS as genuine fans of one or the other don't really have that attitude. I loved them both, I do have a preference for Jill and obviously I wanted her to win if possible, but Alesha was fab tonight.

The first time the Jill v Alesha thing ever arose on DS I gave my opinion (they're as good as each other, but they have different strengths), but it gets a bit tired doesn't it!

They have very different styles. Both women are excellent. One does not preclude the other. Favouritism is personal preferrence. Mine is Jill. I'd quite adore to see a show with just Jill and Darren and Alesha and Matthew. Sheer heaven in a thought.

Jill doing her latin dances repeatedly and Alesha her ballroom. That would be the best show in the world.

Oh yes! With an interlude of Matt, Nicole, Darren and Lilia doing a few showdances each!

Matt and Darren would be exhausted but it would be fab for the audience!

Must begin brainstorming to persuade Strictly PTB's to fulfil demand/wish/unseemly begging.

Yet again I see you're talking absolute rubbish.

Her drop dead gorgeousness was a problem? Alesha has the perfect hair, perfect skin tone, perfect body, and legs that could probably reach the moon. It hardly impeded her. Or doesn't it count because she wasn't in a current relationship, and women can't control themselves when they see Kelly running off with the man they want to marry? You have a very very very misogynistic and unrealistic view of the female gender.
