Endemol have used transexual
See thread http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/t/95558/ds.html
Wonder if this was the reason for all the rumours during endemols BB4 series? |

Miriam was in the paper yesterday, I have to admit its very very difficult to see that she is a man, apparantly they disguised her adams apple as well so that wouldnt give her away, one of the men involved in the game is quite high up in the army and didnt want to be named for obvious reasons! it was very wrong what the programme makers have done, there is nothing wrong with transexuals of course, but there is something wrong with deceitful behaviour, they purposly set out to humiliate these men.

I find all these "Find me a man/woman" types of programme rather distasteful for some reason and never watch them - programmes such as the Villa, Sex in Ibiza, etc. I just do not watch.
The above programme does make me wonder just how far Endemol will take matters into their hands in order to get a TV show .... get ratings .... get more money There is nothing wrong with transexuals - but the way the unsuspecting guys are encouraged to have sexual contact with the transexual is seriously wrong ... How many people will watch the whole series?? |

from what I have read it will never be transmitted, they seem to be thinking up more and more outrageous things to boost their ratings, I dont class these kinds of things as reality tv anyway, they are made, i.e. wife swap, BB, the salon, reality tv to me is, airport, blues and twos, animal hospital, that kind of thing, real situations.

I'm glad the guys challenged it and I think more people should if they are tricked into looking like idiots. That's the only thing that will make companies like Endemol stop doing it. They're only interested in money so hit them where it hurts - in the pocket.

And yet this is the company that created Big Brother -what I assume is some of your favourite TV. I am sure Channel4 and Endemol are full of lots of lovely nice people all trying to entertain and keep their jobs-why not applaud them instead of attacking them. I expect it is not too easy for them after BB4 -but the papers still seem to be talking about the teenies and that is due to be shown again in some form in the new year I think. After all without them you may never have heard of Alex Sibley or the one or that other one.(or at least not know so much about how nice people they all are) That head of channel 4-he is one sexy babe for sure.

I dont actually think this has anything to do with the making of Big Brother, or in fact Teen big brother, this has to do with the fact that these men were terribly decieved, sometimes its not fair what progamme makers do in the same of so called entertainment.

The six men who took part in the show have now been adviced by lawyers to have a test for STI's although they only fondled and kissed Miriam there is a chance they could have gotten herpes! how yuk would that be if it happened, I am sure they would be entitled to a lot of compensation.

We have already paid these people quite enough salary for their entertainments, they do not really need the further reward of compliments for the sake of it.
Our purpose as enthusiasts is to provide honest, straightforward, stout, and constructive critisism. Otherwise we will end up with 100% fabricated, financially corrupt, nepotistic, boring, abusive, rubbish for our reality TV contests. |

Don’t get me wrong…I find the whole premise of the show to be reprehensible and Miriam, being complicit in the deceit deserves a portion of the criticism aimed at Endemol. But the comment re STI’s implies that transsexuals are festering breeding grounds of herpes and other STI’s which obviously isn’t necessarily the case. I'm not having a go at Persian for reporting this, although maybe the language was slightly too colouful ![]() Any random, sexually active individual (man, woman, transsexual/transgendered) has the potential to be a carrier for many unsavoury things and my guess would be that if Miriam had turned out to be a biological woman, then no-one would have suggested they have any kind of STI screening. |

I dont really know how my language was too colourful, and I certainly didnt mean they are getting tested just because Miriam is a transexual, I am sure it would have been the same if she had been a born woman, sorry but I dont know how else to word it.
But then again, if she had been a woman then these men would not be making the fuss they are now, and they would have been happy to have the programme transmitted. |

So I do not agree it shows any prejudice against transexuals, merely the combatitive attitude of lawyers doing their job properly. |

It does not show prejudice against Transexuals as such, but as I said, it she had been a biological woman, (sounds much better than born a woman as I put it) then none of this would be happening would it, the men would gladly have accepted the prize, and they certainly would have gone further than kissing and fondling! and would they still have been asking for a check up?
I think the main issue with this one is the deceit, the men were made to look foolish, getting them to have a check up is just another thing to make the lawyers look good and get as much money as they can. I personaly think the programme should never be aired, and the makers should seriously think about how far they will go for money. |

Not sure if this is at all relevant to this discussion but I heard on the radio that the first stage of this game involved the boys picking the girl who was to take part
Out of the half dozen girls vying to be chosen, the boys unanimously picked 'Miriam' Caveat Emptor !! |

I think it's safe to assume that the other girls selected to be in the line-up were considerably less glamorous than Miriam.
