As much as I love Strictly, I felt that the Dancing On Ice Christmas Show was far superior to the Strictly one. It was much more slick and rehearsed, and generally better presented. If the ratings were poor, then I can only agree with whoever said it could have been bad timing, coming straight after Strictly. Maybe Christmas Eve would have been better? But it was repeated today so it would be interesting to know what the ratings were today.

Dancing on Ice did well last night. 5.2m might not sound much, but up against 2 of the biggest shows of the night it's a decent effort. ”

BARB claim the figures are acurate but it is highly unlkely that the figures they claim are accurate. Its based on complex mathematics using the laws of probability. That dos not mean they are acurate.

The figures are an estimate and are no better then that. BARB go to great lengths to avoid any real validation of their data.

If you take say General Elections they have been subject to more polls and much larger sample sizes and the results are rarely very accurate. This is a good example as the data can be validate as the results are known. Even a poll trying to work out who will wing a general election is not that accurate generally about 10% error rate is the best they get.

With BARB figure you are looking at upto a 40% error rate but 20% is likely to be more typical.

Even the industry does not believe the BARB figures to be accurate

I thought that. It was about twenty minutes before we even saw anyone skate - by which time I was already flicking channels.

I watched it but was a bit bored!!!!!! Perhaps I am just not excited cos the whole series was so long ago I did not care who won. I think anyone who does the show is mad as it is so dangerous. The head banger is so dangerous for anyone and who will pay if the celebs end up in a wheelchair!!

I agree; it is not allowed in ice dance competitions because it is so dangerous, and I really wish they would stop using it in DOI.

Apart from the unnecessary danger, I always feel more impressed by seeing the celebs skating decently on their own.
