I know it's traditional tango music, but I'm not the only person who immediately thinks of Jack Lemmon in drag, shaking his maracas, every time I hear it.

I'm with the OP!
![]() Was really gunning for Rachel and Alesha, but I was completely blown away by Kelly's energy and control. I wasn't impressed by her last year, but her performance in this show was superb. The real winner for me! |

Oh, now you've done it. Some Like It Hot. I'd forgotten. I'll never be able to take that music seriously again. The rose switch cracks me up every time I see it. It was La Cumparsita, wasn't it..?

It was and I was laughing quite a bit through Lisa and Brendan's Tango when they did it because of that music danced to by Jack Lemmon and Joe E Brown even though it was very good. Sometimes music can be evocative for all the wrong reasons.

Kelly cheered me up no end after my dissapiontment of Rachel not winning SCD. The dance was not perfect, but very good and so joyous. She looked great and Brian seemed so happy to be dancing with her. His usual flirty self! She deserved second place as Jill was so good. Still a little dissapionted she didn't win. It was so good to see her after she had to drop out last year. I'm so sad it's all over now. No more dancing. I'm missing it already.

I loved their jive, it had freshness in which neither Lisa nor Rachel brough to the dancefloor.
Also, while Lisa's and Rachel's routine looked almost identical to what they had performed on the show (I'm so bored with that rumba with the sleazy todd) Tom's seemed refreshing, fun and he genuinely looked like he had a ball. So what if he wasn't perfect, he went out and enjoyed it and gave a performance, which ultimately showed up even in the Xmas special that he was the rightful winner of the 2008 series! Kelly was good though. And Brian does indeed work magic. Like him a lot! |

no, don't worry that you are the only one to think that Brian's and Kelly's 'jive' was the best dance of the night in Christmas Special because I did as well, i thought Brian's choreography was absolutely brilliant and that you could see just how hard he'd worked to make it like that, well done Kelly for making it look fantastic for him. they did not let each other down at all which I know Brian would or could never do, he never puts a foot wrong, he's just fab-u-lous but the i'm baised as i am crazy about him anyway ![]() Quote:

The choreography has the 'wow' factor.
The kicks and flicks were fast and furious. The entire partnership was a joy to watch. But the best Christmas Special dance ever it is NOT. ![]() ![]() Quote:
I thought Kelly and Brians dance was fantastic!
I'm a big Alesha fan, but I think Kelly DEFiNITELY should have won that night! |

It would have been very interesting to know the results of the audience portion of the vote. We know the audience rated Kelly above Aleisha and Rachel. Wouldn't surprise me if they rated her above Jill as well!

Watched the Christmas Special dances back this afternoon, real shame Kelly didn't win. It was by far the most exciting dance of the night.

I think I was little too hasty with the "best ever".
![]() I would have plumped for Colin's QS. I actually thought ALL the dances in this year's special were quite weak and summed up an over-hyped series.
