Help choosing a half-decent phone out of these?
I'm looking for a bog standard phone to replace my Motarola V3 (winner of 'worst battery life' award). Virgin are offering me £30 off any of the following PAYG phones, hoping to spend up to £50 (so anything around the £80 mark is fine). I don't want nothing fancy, just something easy to use, and Bluetooth + semi-decent camera if possible. This seems lazy, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for, and I'd rather get something that'll last me. Thanks!

I would go for the Nokia 6300. I am too a fan of Sony Ericsson phones, but I don't think you'd use teh features of the W302 (music player, Walkman shortcut buttons etc).
The Nokia 6300 has fewer buttons and has a simple interface. Messaging is easy, and you can use Bluetooth and it has a decent enough camera for a few shots. You can add a memory card for extra storage, if you ever fill it to capacity. |

I had the Samsung U600 - very stable and reliable phone.
I upgraded to a SE for the first time and had it for a month before I bought an iPhone. . . the SE was way to buggy and felt like some kind of Beta-Test device. It froze, the shutter didn't open whenever it felt like it, it froze some more. Samsungs have always been great to me. |

I had a Samsung U600 - loved it until it broke and O2 couldn't replace it for me
![]() My last 3 phones have all been Samsungs - I like the easy menus, and general 'look' of their phones.

I would go with the Nokia 6300 as well. The SE are a pile of dodo, in my opinion.

My Dad has the same requirements as you and the 6300 refuses to give into any mistakes he makes, it allows him to turn on/off bluetooth take 2mp photos with relative ease, the battery is very good given the simplicity of the phone also making it quite thin keypad is nice. I cant judge on Samsungs but a lot of girls tend to get them if that somehow helps, The Sony Ericsons have a good interface but Nokia have caught up with the s40 interface so no worries there both surpass the V3 interface for sure.

SE phones are the best.
![]() I had a W580i and what a nightmare that was! Will never buy a Sony Ericsson again for a very long time. I now have the Samsung F400 and it's a damn nice phone compared to the plastic heep I owned before. |
