His parents live there IIRC so I'd imagine he's home for christmas.

That reminds me - I have some Zavvi vouchers I need to spend. They're going into administration, aren't they?

Not that I want to be the bearer of bad news, but they announced on Christmas Eve that they weren't accepting any vouchers.

I get really starstruck when I see famous people out and about at the best of times - but if I saw Matt C I think I'd turn into a quivering, slobbering wreck

I don't get starstruck. I recognise them, but don't immediately place them so I assume that I know them personally from somewhere, that they're a friend's sibling or parent or something. So I give them cheery nod or say hello in a familiar way. It's only later that I realise that they're 'someone off the telly'

I literally had a fit when I saw someone off Casualty at my local train station, and I didn;t even like them that much

We started at the same local dance school as Matt, and he often used to come back for a show, or just to say hello. His mum - who makes dance dresses - still lives in Southend. He's a really friendly guy and would always be happy to say hello to anyone who recognised him.

I'm confused now - Matt does quite a lot of dance events in Alton, Hampshire so I'd assumed that was where he came from! Wonder what the connection with Alton is then??

Thanks for letting me know anyway!

He comes from Essex but he lives in Norbury which is in SW London.

He had a friend who organises dance events in Alton, but he mainly teaches in Semley dance studio in Norbury.

I've been to three of Matthew's workshops at Alton this year, he is a great teacher and even more attractive in real life

I'm interested in going to some of these next year ruby-tuesday - can you give me an idea what happens, and whether they're suitable for beginners?

I would imagine the professionals travel all over the country to work.

yes I would imagine you are right moonbaby

However, Alton is a fairly small market town in the depths of Hampshire and Matt seems to appear at events/workshops there every few weeks so he obviously has some kind of personal connection with the place - which has been confirmed by pasodabble.

hello strictlyfloss

apparently Matthew is friendly with one of the ladies who runs a dancing school in Alton

the first time I went to a workshop (in April), Matthew was on his own and he taught the basic steps of the jive then, when I went in August, he was with Nicole, and they taught the cha cha and gave a demonstration of the jive and in November, they taught the rumba and demonstrated the samba, both of which were fantastic to see 'live'

each time they taught basic steps which would be suitable for a beginner

after the demonstrations there was a chance to 'Meet and Greet' them, and to have photos taken with them

hope this helps

There's no need to be rude and a bit less of the eye rolling please.

If you ask daft questions maybe you should expect daft answers?
