I have a Technics amp model SU-V500M2 with the following ports

Tape 1 monitor
Tape 2
Aux
CD
Tuner
Phono

Going into this I have:
Technics 1210's from mixer into Aux
LG CD Recorder Model ADR-620 into cd
Sony Minidisk Model MDS-JE480 into tape
I then also have a stereo cable from my tv/video/playstaion to tuner so that lot comes out the speakers too but I'm just about to get another DVD player and want to be able to hook that up too.

The problem is certain things aren't working right, I can't record to and from each format.

Could someone please advise me on the best way to set this up. I have digital in/outs and orange leads that came with it all when I bought it but I'm not sure how to go about using them. At the moment it's all connected using the red and white stereo cables.

I also want to set up my Sky and tv etc but I thought it better to get this out the way first because this seemed confusing enough.

I'm not an expert so if I've written anything that doesn't make sense I apologise.

Thanks in advance.

for the TV side - a DVD with twin SCART (passthrough) will dramically simplify matters!

How many SCARTS on the TV?

Are the audio outputs seperate or part of one SCART socket?

I think that if you read the manual you'll find that under certain conditions its not possible to record from certain input(s) to tape 2....(or similar) my brother has a similar Technics A/V DD surround Sound amp and he cannot record from the video source to the Tape2 md recorder. There's no solution in his case, it's simply how his amp routes the signals, or doesn't route in this case.

You may be experiencing the same restrictions?

The minidisk and cd are both recorders. The cd has two drives, one is for record.

There are two scarts on the tv.
The audio output is seperate.

On the minidisk there one digital optical in and two analog in and outs.

On the cd there are two analog in/out for cdr and one for cdp. Then there is one coxial cdp out and one coxial in and one coxial out for cdr. Finally there is an optical cdr in and out.

On the amp there are 8 in and outs.
