Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
Missy Fantastic

got this for xmas I dont think it lives up to all the hype it gets,

has anyone else on here used it ?

I think it leaves the skin really dry

Never leaves my skin feeling dry - if anything it leaves it feeling really silky. I warm it in my hands and then press it against my skin rather than rubbing it in like a normal face cream. My skin always feels tightened up and really fresh afterwards.

Could you be allergic to it maybe?

I dont think that Im allergic to it, I might give your way ago next time I use it, I was just expecting more from the product for the price it is.

I love it, it makes my skin look better after foundation, I have quite red cheeks and it seems to calm them down. Are you using moisturiser before? You will probably need to: it won't be great at moisturising on its own.

I love it. I'll have it off you if you don't want it!

I work in the make up profession and I swear by this - nothing touches it...don't stick to the instructions, apply to clean face, don't blend and 2 mins later apply foundation - amazing, i use a tiny bit everyday!

BTW if you use a moistirser use a tad and then apply BFB

You can also use it as a face masque but I think its too pricey to be layering it on thick and wiping it off. I love the smell of it too.

Not that I am tight but when it stops squeezing out of the tube I then cut the end off as because its quite thick there is often quite a lot stuck to the sides of the tube so I scrape all that out too.

Anyone use Superdrug Natural High Radiance Balm?

It's pretty similar, you can use just a bit to give yourself that glow, or put a thick layer on as a mask.

I think it's pretty good stuff and only £3.99!

I have used it when couldn't afford BFB and its not a bad substitute. Bit like using value baked beans rather than Heinz. Both do the job but I prefer BFB if money is no object.

Lasts me months but I don't use it all the time - special occassions and maybe once a week normally.

I think if you use something on your skin all the time you get used to it and it doesn't have the same effect after a while.

Sometimes I will use a blob mixed with normal moisturiser to give my normal moisturiser a bit of a boost.

Thanks for that tip, may try....

Had a sample of Beauty Flash Balm once but it was years ago and I wasn't really into skincare at that time...

i always thought the clarins balm made me look a bit pinky, like foundations with too much pink in them. i have yellow toned skin...

if you want to use as a mask, i found dermalogica multivitamin masque is better for yellow toned skin...and is very good in winter as it makes you glow but doesn't look like fake tan.

I've got some but only used it a couple of times - like the OP my skin felt really tight and it felt like a 'second skin', like I had a face mask on or something.

Having read this thread I'll give it a go again with moisturiser first and maybe use a bit less.

I dont rate it at all though I would recommend the Smashbox primer. It leaves my skin looking fabulous.

I alway though BFB was *almost* proof that there maybe a god.

Just magic stuff.
