More to the point, any double dip recession, is going to cause alot more pain than the Tories/LibDems chance at re-election.”

I'd not vote Labour at present.

Torries being elected depends on if they can avoid another recession. It's partly what cost Gordon Brown.

could you tell that to Brotherhood Retail Park.

It has 4 stores on it, one of the a Mattress Man (a bit cheap looking) but no real anchor store to attract anybody like Focus USED to. Over all their is about 10 large sized units on the development. The only thing it has going for it is the fact Morrisions is next door. If the Maskew Avenue Retail Area gets the planned supermarket, then that wont be much of a bonus.

sorry my election speculation, was based on us entering a double bit recession, as being speculated about.

Obviously I dont with this to happen, but a fresh round of stores closing is not good news.

People I think would vote for Tories, even if they knew it meant pain for them, and those around them, if they thought it would work out, but so far that has not happened.

TBH I am getting fed up with party polotics, and would rather no MP was a memeber of a party, so their only interest is serving their voters, also all MPs would be in government, not 1/3 to 1/2 being sat doing very little opposition, despite being elected to govern by the voters in their area.

having another read of the posted article, if its going to be open for Summer 2012, they should probaly be making a start on the redevelopment, with 2 new empty units, now would be a good time.

Still its a shame that nothing has been done about the empty stores for (in most cases) a couple of years now, really they couldnt have offered a discount rate to a start up?

It says that Jane Norman is a fashion retailer for 16-25 year-olds. I always thought it was for older women?

Maybe that's why they've gone under.

No, it has always been a cheap and cheerful, not overly adventurous shop for the very young. Sort of between Primark and Top Shop.

Jane Norman cheap? I don't think so, have you ever been in one of their stores? Their stock was always overpriced rubbish that the chav girls at school always raved about, I'm not surprised they've gone under

The Company has 90 stores and supposed to be £140 Million in debt. The Website seems to be still open for business.

I doubt we'll go back in to recession this year but regardless I don't think this government has had long enough to sort out the mess yet. If we avoid recession before the next election (4 years is a long time) and the books are starting to be balanced enough to relax the current austerity measures then I see the Tories being able to use that to win outright in 2015.

Seems it is.

It's just the TJ Hughes brand and seeming the owner wants to buy back the most profitable shops.

So by going inton administration they can axe the loss making ones and debt. Quite a few retailers have done this.
