Weakest 5 Performances.
Strictly Autumn
28-12-2008
Similar to my other thread, but in the opposite direction, which five performances from this season of Strictly have been the poorest, or have been your least favourite/entertaining to watch?

Mine are :

(1) Gary and Karen's Jive
(2) Gary and Karen's Cha Cha Cha
(3) Mark and Hayley's Paso Doble
(4) Jessie and Darren's Quickstep
(5) Andrew and Ola's Tango

John and Kristina were more entertaining .

I actually thought Jessie and Darren's qs was the worst because most bad dances are at least bad enough to be amusing (or in the case of Andrew and Ola's AS - they have car-crash value) and that didn't manage that.

They are joined in the hall of shame by:

Gary and Karen's cha cha cha and jive
Mark and Hayley's paso
Phil and Flavia's waltz in the final (I can't remember if it was that bad when they first got knocked out for it - but in the final it was a noticeably really poor)

Andrew and Ola's samba comes a very close sixth - a display of dad dancing if ever there was one.

In fact I think all the eliminated contestants in the single sex shows nicely demonstrated why they never made to compete with the opposite gender in the final - the quality of dancing went up noticeably when Don Warrington started tango'ing. Although Gillian wasn't as dreadful as everyone else she still wasn't very good.

I have blanked most of them from my mind.

I hated most of the things that Mark Foster did and the dance that Andrew Castle did with Ola in the catsuit.

Jesssie was tearful and distressed in the back room after her first dance, then left the building and had to be strenuously persuaded to come back and do the dance-off, in which she came close to stopping. Had Matt D after his meltdown gone into the dance-off the audience would have been terrified. Letitia being the trouper she was, performed her dance-off carrying 100 degrees temperature. Gary nearly disintegrated in his dance-off jive.

Car crash once is bad enough. A repeat? Have mercy, celebs are not professionals who can fall back on years of autopilot.

Craig gave John's cha cha 1 and on ITT described it as rancid. This dance is drawing huge repeat audiences on YouTube and looks set to become a perennial classic.

Everyone is of course watching Kristina. Would anyone who knows Indian dancing like to comment on Kristina's arm and hand movements? I believe this dance would have struck a chord in ancient Greece and India.
