Just tried to ring the indian takeaway, and they have changed it - says they don't accept calls from withheld numbers

What do I have to dial first? And then do I have to put in the full STD code ?

You need to enter 1470 before you dial the usual number and this will let them see who is calling. Hope this helps.

It used to be 1470, no need to add the area code. That was several years ago though, it might have changed!

I don't understand why people have permanently witheld numbers! I don't answer any calls unless I can see the number. It's stupid

If I could block all calls from withelds on my mobile that would be great

*major bugbear*

My number is ex-directory. This makes it automatically withheld, apparently.

Oh, that's interesting..

I'm ex-directory, but not witheld (and I'm with Virgin).. and my parents are ex-directory, but not witheld (and they are with BT)

You can request it I think to go along with your ex-directory..ness You just need to ask the company.
