Very anoying. Luckily I put realplayer into overdrive and took off what I wanted from series 5 , 6 and 4 a few weeks ago.

There's no way a BBC DVD can cover more than once dance per couple and a few more for the top 3 and no way youtube can capture everything that matters so its hardly unfair compettion

This cutting of thing shey will never sell again anyway from youtube totally ruined DOI series 2 because I hadn't got realplayer to download it with before it went then.

Looks like its going to be a case of someone who knows putting it up and grabbing everything before it goes again. Off to check I have all the BBC maria and Oliver vids........

Stupid BBC. They are just encouraging people to use BitTorrent and into the realms of sharing high quality copies as opposed to the relatively low quality of YouTube vids.

There's already someone on this thread offering DVDs - To distribute those DVDs would be illegal as the law stands, so be careful! But, the BBC are encouraging people to flout the law by doing stupid stuff like this.

The media companies should be embracing the harmless sharing of relatively low quality YouTube vids, otherwise the masses will learn how simple it is to freely copy & distribute high quality digital entertainment formats.

Copyright law can only be maintained in the digital age if the large majority of the people agree to adhere to it, even though they have the means to flout it. As soon as they lose the people, the law will be worthless and the media companies will need to find an entirely new business model, one not based on intellectual property. If that's what they want, they are going about it the right way.
The law is worthless anyway except to stop commercial copying. You can make a DVD or tape of the show and keep it forever even though under copyright law you shouldn't - because no one enforces the law baout length of time you keep it or amount you record. Youtube is effectively the same and lower quality......

The BBC really are a bunch of muppets; they might replace all of the videos with their 'official' ones, but they will cut out the audience's reaction/applause and the judges' comments = why bother?

I'm sure people have noticed that my youtube channel was deleted by me and not by youtube. A couple of my clips were removed and so I felt more comfortable deleting it before anything else happened.

I feel absolutely terrible that people are not able to watch my clips any more, but I have always uploaded them on the basis that I would take them down if there was any hint that the BBC weren't happy about it. I don't think there is much likelihood of any legal trouble arising from it, but if there was it would be my problem to deal with, and I also felt uncomfortable with having infringed BBC copyright if they had a problem with it. I don't particularly agree with them having the videos removed, but at the end of the day that is their decision and I would prefer to respect it. In the past they haven't said anything about the hundreds of clips available, which I have taken to mean they weren't actually bothered by it.

A breakfast interview and a dance from the series two Christmas Special... quite random really since every one of my videos was Strictly or Strictly related

Strange
So far it's just the Christmas Special and Final that have been removed from my (and maltipom's) account. If any more goes then I'll just delete my acount

It does look like it's to do with the DVD then. Although I thought someone else said the Mark and Karen videos have gone as well, and I'm not sure where my clips fit into this

It seems as though the BBC were just in a bad mood yesterday and went round deleting any SCD videos they could find.

The only other idea I had was that maybe throughout the series links may have been posted on the SCD Forums to our channels. Seeing as they have now been closed a few days ago, the BBC may have been having a look through them and found out about our channels....

How very sad!

I'm not surprised at the clamp-down. It was inevitable given the SCD6 video. However, to wipe the clips at Christmas is very Bah Humbugish of both the BBC and Youtube.

Im gutted for all who put in all the hard work and furious with the BBC, i understand (kinda) about this years but not about removing the christmas special or videos from other series, esp as youtube is the pretty much only place you can get stupid BBC, they are ruining what started out as a great show and they are just making dedicated fans angry

Maltipom removed them herself after the BBC removed the Christmas Special and the Final. She has left the ITT clips up in the hope the BBC may ignore those.

Well I'll leave my main show clips up too so people can still watch them but if my channel gets removed then people will still be able to watch ITT on maltipom's account

Thats her old account that got suspended at the begginning of the year. Her current account (maltipom2) still has the ITT from this year on it
