Yes, you can set up an MP3 as a text tone.
It does save sent messages (300 max, including received ones). You can set up video ring tones, which is pretty cool. It's got a pretty decent MP3 player, plays all kinds of videos (DivX, too), has some handy features, can be modified if you're brave, and can run all kinds of applications. The camera is pretty great, too. Here's a couple of pics I took with it: One..., Two.... I just pointed and took. You can make the images a lot better by adjusting the settings (I was bored one day and took loads of random ones )It's a good phone, but I feel it's becoming slightly outdated already mainly because it's quite chunky. I still love it, though. |

I love it, been a long while since I had a new phone. The camera's brilliant and that will definitely get a lot of use.

I bought it for myself for Christmas as well. Have had it about a week now and haven't explored it completely yet.
Have only just discovered all the cool effects and things you can do to photographs. I've been hunting for good things to film in slow motion. The cat from down the street is not very obliging. Once I start filming he stands still and stares at me. I do like the phone as a gadget but I'm not that impressed with it as a phone. I find it a bit fiddly but might just need to get used to it. I was trying to browse the internet on it the other night and it switched itself off 4 times in 10 minutes which was rather annoying. I don't think it's that easy to use the internet on it with scrolling etc. The battery life isn't great but you've got to expect that with a touchscreen phone that has lots of fancy features. I got it on Pay and Go from o2 but stuck my o2 contract sim in it. Unfortunately my sim is 7 years old and I can't get 3G with it!! Am still waiting for them to send me a new one. |

I do like the fact you can use a qwerty keyboard to type a text message. I'm good at predictive text, but even that can be a pain in the arse sometimes. Need to get a micro sd card for mine. |

Hi Tom,
I've just ordered 2gb micro SD from Amazon for about £3.65 and free delivery. I'm hoping to put a couple of films on it. I haven't decided which way I prefer to text. I think I'm too used to having normal keys and texting really fast. It's good to have the option of the QWERTY although I do find myself using the traditional keypad more. Have you tried the handwriting input? |

Remember 2GB is the max it can read.
The Viewty can connect to a TV (via an output cable) and you can watch your videos and such on the TV via the Viewty. I love the QWERTY input. I prefer it to predictive text. Handwriting is another matter. It's really pointless and takes a lot longer. You can get Opera for mobile phones, which is a browser. Some people prefer it to the Viewty one. I am fine with the Viewty one, though. Mine has never closed down during browsing the internet. It's only gone dodgy once, when I was texting the phone went pink and restarted. That's it. I have to say the battery life is great for it, if you keep Bluetooth off, that is (which is to be said for most phones). I only charge mine about once per week, but I probably only use the phone (to talk) for about 3 hours per week in total, and send more texts. |

I think there's a "hack" to increase the size, though. That's a thing I love about this phone. It's easy to customise if you dare. |

£3.65? That sounds good, thanks for the info. I've not tried handwriting, I imagine it is best done with the stylus (which I don't use all).
Anyway, they'll probably deliver to you if you are on the mainland. Although it works out the same price as the other one with free delivery. I did think £1.62 sounded suspiciously too cheap though!! |

![]() ![]() Beware of Amazon Marketplace. It's a great place to shop and is cheap, but sometimes things like SD cards get lumped in with the P+P costs for electronics and costs £5, depending on the seller's options. I got mine from there with no problems, in fact. |

It reminds me of playing Brain Training on the DS. I'm sure there must be some similar kind of game you can download for the viewty. The stylus is a pain to carry around as well swinging about the phone like some kind of swingball game! I think the best use of the stylus is writing on photographs. |

There was a seller on Amazon selling it for about £1.62 but there was £1.99 delivery charge. They wouldn't deliver to me anyway because I live in Northern Ireland which I often find with Amazon Marketplace sellers. It's most annoying!!

There was another for £1.08 and £1.99 shipping. Yeah it works out cheaper but like you say it makes you suspicious and a few pence makes no difference. |
